jonoave chapter 1 . 9/15/2006
Nice story, but there's this nagging part that doesn't quite do it for me. How the part bout Blake being the navy ranger was so easily dismissed..

"..And there have been lots of yellow rangers, even if Dustin’s the only male one. Tori and Blake can both pass as blue rangers, and there were plenty of green rangers like you."

By the same token, Hunter can easily pass off as red too. So the part about Hunter feeling left out didn't quite do it for me anymore. No offence, it's cool that Hunter felt left out, but I thought maybe Blake-navy issue could be dealt with better. Maybe then it'll support Hunter's feelings about it better.

Still a nice story though - good flow. And liked the Cam-Hunter pairing.

Loved how you mentioned the fact that Power Ranger's' is not Power 'Ranger'. It's throught the efforts of all the members and what each individual brings to the table that make them able to fight and conquer their enemies so effectively. Technically the forever Red episode still considered team work all the red rangers had to work together for a common goal even thought one red rangers was missing 'Rocky'.

Great story

Very nice! I really liked the 'dissection' of the colors. Hunter feeling alienated because his color doesn't really fit with the 'mainstream' makes sense and you've explained his reasonings very well. And of course the comfortable Cam/Hunter-ness was a nice touich on top of it all. Great job!

This was very enjoyable, well done, and a very insightful look into how the first Ranger to wear a new color might feel when they discover that they're the first to wear a color that's not been seen before.

This is a great one-shot tale.

Keep up the wonderful work,

Pern

Well... Tommy became leader in white... and Wes was battle leader.

Technically Eric wasn't a red. He is part of the bread called sixth Ranger (In a way Trent is, too; he shows the same pattern that sets them apart).

And the Rainbow Ranger (and Christmas Ranger) are nicknames for Tommy. Fans love that. Would be something Hunter would remark on, too.

If Forever Red had been later Shane and Hunter would have been invited.

I liked Forever Red... so many "old" faces, different fighting stiles, good looking men. And it was a special mission.

Andros was a good choice because he had spied on the enemy before and had a space ship; Tommy was a good choice because he had been a Ranger so long, is a natural leader and was responisble for the not distruction of Serpentera; Wes and Eric were the only ones from Time Force who were around anyway.

It had to be a color which was on every team which meant either red, blue or yellow (or sixth); Blues are thinkers... I wouldn't know at first glance who would call such a mission; who would have found out and had a space ship... and the red Rangers have more fans anyway... and the yellows are up to Dustin all girls anyway. Most watchers are probably male (prejudice). They'd do it but who would lead? And when did Trinis actor die anyway? (Damn: I forgot the hearts of the team : pink! But again: all girls with no space ship in sight)

And there couldn't be more Rangers... episodes are too short and so many Rangers... no character and who would protect earth?

Ryan wore a silvery uniform while Zanes was white.

With Tommy they had a team leader. I liked the was Cole was so entusiastic for him. TJ was partly at fault with his introduction: "That's Tommy. He's a legend." And Andros had called him a veteran Ranger before.

Crimson (and Navy) were introduced to make the conflict stronger between the Wind Rangers and the Thunder Rangers. There were still careful not to use a third Thunder Ranger because Cam was fated for the sixth Ranger position. As Shane and Hunter are both leaders the conflict was very clear even when they started working together.

Sorry for ranting. Liked your work!
