well that was oddly prfound I'm not a fan of the pair in that cents nor have I ever considerd them befor but this was beautiful :) There talk about art was ver well thought out and has a lasting efect.

I read as far as Deidara pulling Naruto towards him. It could be an interesting friendship fic, but personally I have no interest at all in yaoi.

Oh, and it was that immortal thread using mednin that stitched a new arm to Deidara. Not sure of much else than that now that I think about it. And that part wasn't interesting enough for me to re-read it. Ever.

O_O I've been a half-hearted DeiNaru fan for a while, simply because I like pairings that are understudied and consequrntly unique pretty much every time I read them, but this was something else. I love the fleeting feel of the overal mood as if its a capture in time that, however swift, is oddly timeless. Made me think of Deidara's "art" in a new light; a paradox whereby something sudden and abruptly ended can in fact riverbeat for years afterwards. A ripple-effect, almost. The loss of something makes it all the more lovely and this grows over time.

For a one-shot, you've really hit the nail in forming a realistic but oddly surreal event. The kiss being gritty and very tangible. To me the scene seems to mark a strange but significant life lesson for Naruto, that beauty does not need to be physically timeless or attainable and many times it is the unattainable, "things that are beyond our grasp," that are the most beautiful. Most timeless and as a result most vivid in our memories.
