Reviews for Amazing Race II: Paper Mario: TTYD Edition
Remus Orion Potter chapter 1 . 3/12/2016
I favorites your first story… might as well favorite this one.
TheBowserBomb chapter 15 . 2/20/2009
Great story! It's the best Mario fanfic I've read yet! And believe me, I've read a lot of them!
Diverbium chapter 15 . 10/28/2007
Most of the Amazing Race fic have tendancy to fall under following categories: 'Great' or 'Not-so-well-written'. (to put it mildly.)

And this story definitely deserves to be called excellent! This is one of few AR stories that was worthwhile reading.

(I actually spent all night reading this, and such event do not occur often.)

Though I have to say, it was Smorg that caused me to be so fascinated over anything. I love such personality types (polite genius), and intelligent Smorgs were definitely awesome! Too bad it's not permanent.. I presume they are also author-generated characters, meaning there will be no longer be any fanfiction about them either. Arg.. fate is so cruel.

On more bright note, it is pleasing to read that second team I rooted for have won- compensates 5% of my grief over lost paradise.. I mean Smorgs anyway. Well, great fic. I'll definitely be checking out your other stories soon.
DM chapter 15 . 8/13/2007
Great job

This one was much improved over the first one, which I also followed

Only disappointment was that Andy and King didn't win :(

OMG! I just returned from my vacation to France (Which was a few months long). I'm back in America and I had started reading your chapters!

OMG...This story is so awesome, I really wish there were more reviews. I think that the length has to do something with it, I mean, it's a bit lengthy, just some quick snips on some uneeded parts shall do the trick.

I really, really hope you get to the Third Series! I'll be reviewing, so sorry for not being here before, but at least I learned to to fluently speak French...lol.

So, loved Shim-Stress, so awesome. Are you by chance doing any other characters in other Paper Mario's? Just wondering because it's going to be hard squeezing out other characters...lol.

Love you, the best author ever!

*Dances to the story*
SSBFreak chapter 15 . 8/10/2007
Alright! You finished it! And the team I was suspecting to win actually won! Awesome!

Hey, no need to thank me for keeping up with the reviews. These are awesome race stories!

Great work and I wish you luck on your next race!
njj chapter 5 . 7/12/2007
I suggest having Kammy Koopa and Bowser!
a guy chapter 4 . 7/11/2007
I like Grodus/Crump and Vinny/Tony!
SSBFreak chapter 13 . 7/2/2007
I had a feeling the it would be a non-elimination leg, so I wasn't too nervous about the results.

Only two more legs! You're almost done! I think I might have an idea on who's goingto win, but I won't say anything in case I spoil it.

On a side note, if you're interested, I've started a votefic over in the Game Crossover section. While it's probably got a lot of characters you don't know of, it also has some Paper Mario characters. Meh. Just in case you're interested.

Keep it up!
Yoshi Hoshi chapter 12 . 6/11/2007
Well, the reason I pick out specific details is to prove that I actually read the whole chapter and not just scan throughout.

Now the Smorgs can't make up their minds on their slot-machine personalities. I see Marilyn, a mix between the Shadow Queen and a valley girl, some tyrannical dictator, sensical alliteration, a baby, the (obligatory?) British accent, and... their old selves pre-race. (I almost would have seen Smorgo's SMORGs in bold, italic, and underline at once!) Well, it looks like Blaise finally got his wish. And here ends the Smorg invading my reviews as well.

How could Shimi mistake UFO as LOW? Even those letters don't sound the same!

I wonder if eating too much of Cheese Land might result in landmark destruction. And is Cheese Land considered to be a universal hub of sorts, considering the presence of other spacecraft?

Usually, one would trust Mushroom International Airlines for direct service, but seeing a Dryite work there is not a good sign, for they look too suspicious.

Is the second Detour choice Tree CHOP or CROP? The first mention of the Detour had "Chop", something that I thought Hamma and Flare would easily do with their destructive nature, but the clue said "Crop", and everyone said "Chop" from the choice...

Now, the Hazard guesses-oh wait, no one took the Hazard? If this is the last Hazard, what are the remaining choices?

Maybe the bikes' designs, like the flags from an earlier task, come from the characters' interview forms, since they're all customized.

A cow as the greeter! Didn't see that coming; either Pristine Plains is very sparsely populated, or you're out of ideas or species for greeters.

And something else scrambles up the teams completely? Yes, it will be hard to keep track. Whoever's doing the leaderboard will have to put a lot of footnotes for this leg.

I'll defer to others on your Hanna-Barbera idea, but I'm sure that when that race goes on paper, you'll make the animators proud.
SSBFreak chapter 12 . 6/8/2007
Alright! Down to the final four teams! Things are REALLY getting down to the wire.

A Hana-Barbera Amazing Race? Sounds interesting. Let's see...If I can guess a few of the team (I only know of a few of those cartoons).

Flinstones (since you're wanting at least a few female teams, I'm gonna say Wilma & Betty)

Jetsons (again, if you're looking for female teams, I think it might be Jane & Judy, but it could also be George & Jane...)

Scooby Doo (Fred & Daphne, Shaggy & Velma, Daphne & Velma...)

Penelope Pitstop (I've only seen a couple of episodes, but I think the team will either be Penelope & Clyde or Clyde & Dum Dum)

Keep it up! You're almost done!
Yoshi Hoshi chapter 11 . 5/22/2007
I think we can safely assume that this is the first Amazing Race to go to outer space, then?

Ha, "advertisement-crazy" is an understatement. I don't ever recall any real racer with that much "sponsorship". And it seems Shimi's spoonerisms are getting worse-something needs to counteract the Smorg's newfound randomness.

Monotone robots have emotions? "Alert. Detecting two unidentified discs attacking space shuttle KRR-042692. Capabilities unknown. Initiating pursuit. Retract oil order. Insert maniacal laughter..." yeah, I just can't visualize that happening, unless these robots also have dreams as well...

Domestic UFOs mght probably be driven like either go-karts or single-engine airplanes, except there's countless levers, buttons, lights and gauges to monitor. I probably shouldn't drive anything like that if they're real. Well, if old ladies can't drive cars...

Just when the Smorg can't get insane enough...now Smorga is even crazier than usual? At least British Smorgo is retained, albeit with amnesia and a hint of arrogance. This ought to be good, although so far consistency between both seems to be better.

Meanwhile, the Star Dust detour takes an eternity to complete.

I suppose now the metal branch falling on the Smorg at the Pit Stop would reverse their personalities again?

What Zess and Toadsworth said at the leg's start was true-knowledge of other worlds is not enough to overcome all difficulties in the Race-it also depends on luck and choosing the right task, and the lack of either happens to be their downfall. I was sure they would make it to the final three.
SSBFreak chapter 11 . 5/19/2007
Another excellent leg! It's really getting down to the wire, now! You're almost done the second race!

Say, I was wondering. Is it alright if I use a version of the Mismatch Rod for my next race? I just really liked the concept of it. _

Keep it up! You're doing really great!
Master Ruck chapter 10 . 4/28/2007
Aw, I was kinda liking the smorg but then you have to go and do that to them. Ah well, gives some of the other teams a good chance I guess. Still enjoying this and hope the next chapter doesn't take too long to do.
SSBFreak chapter 10 . 4/23/2007
Hmm...The Smorg are back to normal. For some reason, I think it would have been funnier if just one of them got whacked, leaving the other to try and continue the race like that. However, that might just be too much like Flavio and Bobbery.

Now that Beldam & Queen are out, it's down to the last six teams. It's really getting down to the wire, but I'm having a hard time trying to find a lesser-of-two-evils between the Smorg and Ham-Bros. I guess only time will tell which team does better...
