Reading this a second time. I usually comment every chapter, but I'm having a bad day and probably will only comment at the end to tell you how much I loved it! As I'm sure I will, because I remember it being utterly fantastic, only I'm not positive you had it finished then. :D

I absolutely LOVED this. I was secretly hoping from the beginning that Tattoo and Travesty would have some form of a love affair. :D

Travesty and Tattoo are by far my favorite girls, so far at least. Love this story!

Not the greatest fan of the Moulin Rouge - too much vomit-inducing mushiness and 'spontaneous' singing for my taste - I was reluctant to start reading this fanfic. But the title had spiked my curiosity and I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Still I did not expect much.

So imagine my surprise when I found myself hooked like a heroin junkie from the very first sentence. What I had first though to be some sappy rehash of the same tried and tired love story turned out to be the wickedly brilliant tale of four intense characters. Through hardship and happiness I followed their footsteps eagerily and before I knew it I had devoured all 15 chapters in one sitting. The characters were colourful and believable, with a calm intergrety that is difficult to find even in profession writers these days. As for the writing, well lets just say I have learned several new words, found a million new tricks of the trade and am intensily envious of anyone who can write as good as this girl. Every little detail from the girls dresses to their names was thought out and researched to get every fact right - showing a lot about the writers dedication to even a simple fanfic. As the last chapter rolled around, I can honestly say I was sad to leave Liberty, Juno, Travesty and Tattoo even if they seemed to be ready to move on. Never have I read about such a captivating set of characters and I don't care if the author protests about ownership. The names, setting and costume may have came from the imagination of the costume designer at the Moulin Rouge set but the history, personality and plot is all down to the writer. It takes very little to give something a name, but to give it life takes a whole lot more.

I forsee many hours wasted reading over these chapters again and again, remembering such a fantastic array of characters. Reading this has even inspired me to write my own Moulin Rouge fanfic. I am a major fan and off to read the rest of the fanfics as quickly as I can.

As for constructive criticism, well there isn't much I can say in that department. Oh, just one thing, way way way too short. This story has miles in it, why cut its journey so short?

P.S. love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter and the odd phrases of french that worked their way into the chapters. Just added that little bit extra.

I liked that ending. I'm glad that Liberty left. I think that she was the one who needed to do that the most. I think that I liked Juno's ending the most. I don't know why. You really showed how she grew up. I also liked Travesty's anger that she was fading into the background with Satine. That was pretty interesting when Tattoo threw the necklace into the fire. The thing was Harlequin was so sad.

Wow. I hate Mr. Blind, and he was barely mentioned. That scene between Travesty and Tattoo was interesting. You did it well. Poor Juno. They were both so mean to her. Well, they had to get rid of the necklace. I did find the note that they left for Satine funny. Something about the last line made me sad. It was very moving.

God damn Cecile's brother. How could he not recognize her? Well, actually I do see how he couldn't. That's really sad, how he doomed her there, and now he doesn't even recognize her. That part where Christine was yelling at Satine to distract was interesting.

Wow. They actually stole the necklace. That was really sad with Marianne's abortion. I like how everything her sympathy for it. The part in the last chapter with Christine and Lucas was good. It made Christine seem more human. It was also very sad.

So Cecile's become Juno now. I liked Mome Fromage's line. I guess it's foreshadowing to what happens in the movie?

Oh, that thing with Circus was sad. I liked her. So, somebody robbed Tattoo? What goes around comes around, I guess.

Poor Cecile. I like your Garden Girl. That part where Baby Doll got into a fight with the foreign whores was good.

Oh no. Did someone rape Cecile? So, Tattoo's picking pockets now? Nice.

That was interesting with Satine. She always did seem different than the rest of the women, and it seemed that at least some of them resented her, especially Nini. I liked that you gave a little bit of a clue about that in this chapter. For some reason, I liked the thing with the bird. I also like that Satine is already calling Cecile Juno.

Wow. Marguerite's a bitch. I like. Hm. I think that either Travesty or Liberty is my favorite. Travesty because she's got spunk, or Liberty because she's easily pitiable, but she's got a tough side to her. Juno and Tattoo are cool too. I like all four, really, at least as characters. They're all very well rounded. I like how Travesty and Tattoo already fit in. Liberty's going to have a harder time. It'll be interesting to see how Juno works out.

I thought that that was who was Antoinette, but I wasn't sure. Satine was so sweet to Cecile. Poor Garden Girl. I loved your Pearly Queen and Dominatrix. Travesty seems to fit right in with them. Anyway, I'm on to the next chapter. I can't wait to see how Marianne's interview goes. I don't think that I saw that cameo. I'll have to go back and look later.
