This has got me all choked up...

I'm not... I'm not sure what my insides are doing right now. It's bitterness, but a bit of happiness because when people try to write stories about those who are dead a lot of the time it becomes over angsty and unrealistic and I lose my focus on what they're saying. But not here. The little air of mystery kept me at it. Goodness, that was good, congratulations!

I have no words for the extreme level of amazingness (if that isn't a word, I honestly don't care at this point) that is this fic.

Okay, where to start. Um. Well, I LOVELOVELOVE Luna as a character, and the way you wrote her seems perfect, very IC, we don't need to go over that.

The one thing I noticed was that you didn't spell out some of your numbers ("She had 32 white hearts..." "32 dead..." "There were exactly 5 left on the table.") while you spelled out others. It didn't detract from the story at all, but I'm just pointing it out. I'm slightly nitpicky about those things. :) It might just be an editing suggestion for future reference.

I'm a sucker for stories with metaphors, and the metaphorical resonance in this story was literally astounding. I've only read one other fic with a metaphorical quality that even came remotely close to this one, which was over 6,000 words and written for Percy Jackson. You packed so much meaning into only 1160 or so words: YOU WIN. I came away with the impression that Luna was trying to make all these dead people she wrote names on the hearts for feel her love, even if they hadn't known her personally. When that clicked in my head, it was like, "Wow, that is such a Luna thing to do" and it made me tear up a little bit. That was just an incredible feeling.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite stories here on FF. I've never seen anyone do something like this before. dshjgkdjklf. And the ending was perfect. I cannot even, I have lost my ability to even, I am so unable to even, I literally cannot even.

This was beautiful. The metaphor is perfect, and the end made me cry. I can really see Luna doing this, and the fact that there were five pink hearts, with Harry's rimmed in gold. The symbolism is lovely, and the idea itself is brilliant. Thank you for writing this.
