As much as I was wishing that things would be different with Miaka's last wish, I think that you did a wonderful job with this story. I'm sure that it wasn't easy to "keep to the cannon," as it were, when it would have been so easy to let them all live and be happy.

You are a talented writer, and I definitely look forward to reading more of your stories. And since I'm finding your stories now, I'll be able to read them right away. :)

This story made me cry almost as much as the episode. It's so well done, but I really wish that Nuriko hadn't died.

I really, really love this fic. But I was really disappointed that you did not expand the rest of the Suzaku Seishi's characters.

So I was in the mood for some good FY fanfiction, but nothing I saw on the front page struck my fancy. So I thought, Hmm. Isn't there some story that I've been meaning to finish, after being intrigued by the first 3 chapters?

...

A-HA! Finally remembered! The Last Wish!

And then I looked at my last review date and did one of those "Fruits Basket" type of screams with hands to face- "Oh noo-oo-oo!"

Eighteen months. Absolutely pathetic of me. Tempus fugit with a vengeance, chick-a.

Unfortunately, it's too late at night to write a review worth eighteen months of waiting, but I promise to be more diligent about reading and reviewing more frequently. Onto said review:

If you're anything like me, you re-read your old fics and catch punctuation errors or(in my case) frequent repetition of phrases, and cringe a little inside. I have to say, though, upon reading this, that I'm overwhelmed by the maturity of your writing and the profound emotion that has always been your hallmark.

I'm still impressed by intense and evocative lines like:

"suffocating slowly on the warmth of his own breath"

"Just 'cause it's a dream doesn't mean it's not real."

In addition, your vivid description of Nuriko's family on the day of Kouran's funeral is a concise and expert rendering of the way that four different people react to grief in four different ways. An amazing technical feat that manages to be heart-breakingly emotional at the same time.

And to think-you were just a baby when you wrote this! You amazing child prodigy, you! :P

Anyway, I look forward to reading and reviewing more-but now I must return to my own stuff and stop having so much fun reading yours. But I vow to come back here in a more timely fashion. :P
