tricorvus chapter 2 . 5/3/2015 Hello there, I'm Tricorvus. I know who you are. You're Bloody Marvelous. I have been waiting since 2007 to see a story like this. Where it's written like a book. Footnotes and all. So this is getting favorited. Rock on |
Audrey.J.Harper chapter 15 . 9/8/2014 I'm so glad I found this story! It is incredible and I am sad I found it so long after you posted it. Incredibly well written, funny and original, this new take on Cedric was an exquisite read that even fell into place with the cannon. I cannot praise it enough. The only thing I was left curious about (aside from all of the adventures of Cedric afterwards) was Fleur's future. I suppose it could be assumed that she lost the baby then met/married Bill? Also cannot laugh enough at the snarky footnotes. Thanks for writing. It was honestly a pleasure to read. I hadn't found something so enjoyable in ffnet in a long time. Cannot praise this story enough ! |
Knut25282 chapter 1 . 4/23/2013 We are not duffers! Cool one-shot though! |
RussianDestruction chapter 1 . 4/20/2013 "And you'd better be damn sure Lord Voldemort really IS dead." HAHA Man, he's such a doosher in this fic..I like this AU. And the Sade-Reek part? That's exactly how French girls WOULD say it, nice. |
Light on the Horizon chapter 15 . 11/12/2012 Brilliant story and very cleverly written! :) |
Vera Rozalsky chapter 4 . 5/4/2011 "Harald got a blast of Greek Fire from a Weasley who had decided Stunners were for lesser beings, but his skin grew back in a few days." It's not the incineration that's funny, but the offhanded attitude toward same. "Durmstrang did indeed offer sanctuary to many Cossacks, whose criminal records were of course despicable Communist fakes." I love the layers of twistiness in this footnote, not to mention the footnotes in general. The footnote about transfiguration into a cephalopod: hilarious, or maybe I have a warped sense of humor. "The going rate for corpses was not high in those days, as necromancy was almost a lost art." Even funnier, so the case is closed. I _do_ have a warped sense of humor. |
Vera Rozalsky chapter 3 . 5/4/2011 "where most teachers didn't care how you did as long as you tried, he preferred you not to try, as long as you were right in the end." (scream _and_ cringe: yes, I have met this gentleman. Regrettably.) "After that innovative beginning, we saw the patented Moody approach to giving out textbooks. Instead of levitating them over to us, or passing them out by hand, he Banished them at us as fast as he could – which was impressively quick. Anyone who caught a book got five points, those who dodged or deflected them were left alone and anyone who was hit lost five points as well as getting a good thump in the nose. I dived under my desk and cracked my head on the leg. Responding fast to large objects aimed at the head is sort of obligatory for Seekers, even sane ones who stay out of the melée as much as possible." I have a sneaking fondness for over-the-top Moody, even if he really was Crouch Jr, and this whole bit was extremely satisfying. The Maltese Cross defense, its warnings, and Cedric's reading: not only is he not a nice boy, he's not a very bright boy. :) "...and somebody's half-crazy aunt who'd vanished into thin air on holiday." Nice bit of foreshadowing. |
