Oh, wow. I've recently ben searching for non-slash Red Dwarf fics, and this is my favourite that I've read. I particularly liked the "if anybody in the lift is asleep, please do not hesitate to wake them." You seem to have a very good handle on Rimmer's internal thoughts! :D

I enjoyed this! It's rare to find well-written Red Dwarf fic that deals with Lister and Rimmers kinda, almost, sorta friendship. Thank you for writing this!

You don't have to worry about this chapter not holding its own; the opening snippet was perfect Rimmer. Lovely. The rest was good too, with a nice ending. Well done for writing an enjoyable Red Dwarf fic, and I'll keep an eye open for any other stuff of yours.

Sorry I didn't review the last chapter; I missed the update! :( But it's great! Last chapter was desperately sad... but brilliantly written! And this one was really good too! I wonder what the memory is? I hope you update soon so I can find out! _~

I'm loving this! I wrote a story with a vaugely similar idea a few years ago, but it sucked, I never finished it and I never posted it. So this is much better! I can't wait until the next chapter.

Greetings. Glad to see this story updated, and I thoroughly enjoyed the new chapter. I particularly loved Holly's threat, it sounds like something he would say in the show. I did, however, have two gripes.

1) In the final sentence, where Rimmer says that Lister wouldn't want a neurotic dead man for company... I just can't quite see Rimmer admitting he's neurotic. I can see him admitting that he fears the exam, as you see that in the first episode, but admitting he's neurotic stretches it a bit. Something similar you say is that Lister probably wouldn't want him for company simply because they hate each other, but in better words, obviously :)

2) Not really your fault this, as it's to do with how the show never quite explains how Rimmer can walk and sit etc on hard, real objects. The way I imagine it, he sort of positions himself on the floor or on the bed, like hovering, as he can't touch until he becomes hardlight so technically he can't walk/lie on solid surfaces. Anyway, my gripe: he tingles when he touches the bazookoid. I'm not sure he would feel anything, at least with my understanding of how the holo tech works. Up to you though, and I can't remember how it's explained in the books so I've made up my explanation.

Anyways, a good chapter, fewer wisecracks than the earlier ones but it's a more serious moment so that's certainly fair enough. Can't wait for the next chapter, keep it up!

Oh cool, I understood most of it but I'm in the middle of a French/Maths/English frenzy, my printer just gave up in the middle of printing off my mock exam (I missed it in december) I have a stomach ache like someone just blasted me with a bazookoid and I havent slept since I keeled over at 2pm yesturday afternoon - But still great chappie and Arnie will save the day! - Maybe

Write more. Simple as. I cannot wait to see Rimmer's reaction. On a side note, this is very well written, and I congratulate you for that. Keep up the good work.
