Bee chapter 1 . 1/12/2012 Absolutely beautiful. I loved the imagery of the rain taking away the "ash". The trios confusion at how to proceed and Ron building them a house, giving Hermione a library and all of them a home and something to look forward to. I really liked this passage - 'There once was child in second hand robes who stood in the shadows of others. There once was a knight who challenged a faceless Queen and sacrificed himself. There once was a friend who faced a convicted murderer and screamed, "…you'll have to kill us all." There once was a boy who was jealous and made her cry. There once was a keeper who was too insecure to realize his own potential. There once was a soldier who fought the greatest of evils.' |

Mathiilde3 chapter 1 . 2/23/2011 It is so wired reading stories from before the last book was published because they are rarely the same, but I enjoyed reading your story anyway. I thought it was absolutely amazing. The beginning with the darkness and then the rain cleaning everything up made me cry, it is so beautifully written! Just a really stunning story, I really loved it. |
goldeneyedgirl247 chapter 1 . 2/20/2011 Artfully done. This is stunning. |
Crazylobo chapter 1 . 1/26/2011 This is a beautiful story. You've managed to establish a real sense of tranquility after the war, and the intense focus on only the three of them post-war is a joy to read. There are several comments that I'd like to make, however. First off, I think that it would've been Harry, not Ron or Hermione, that would have been the most hardened by battle. Harry would've been the one refusing to take pain-relieving potions, because they'd allow him to wallow in his grief, and he'd certainly have stayed up to watch the first sign of rain. Ron's sudden departure into architecture was amusing, though, but it's nice to see how you've made Ron the one who gives the trio hope for the future by planning a huge house, and for the three of them to live in it together. (Though why Ron wants Harry! to live with him and Hermione puzzles me just as much as it does Hermione. It'd be awfully awkward for Harry!) I felt that Hermione could have been a stronger character here, especially post-Voldy-war. Her insecurity over Ron's doing things for her is a nice human touch, but I wonder that she doesn't already know that he loves her after going through so much together? And meh, I doubt she would've melted so easily with Ron. I can hardly imagine her going all "girly"! |
