| Queen Bess chapter 20 . 6/26/2005 As a shipper fence sitter (meaning I'm happy whether or not L/S end up together) I have to say I'm really pleased with how this ended. It had that happily ever after feel, without being contrived. (It's all too easy to fall into that trap.) It was sweet, with some humor, enough realism and just a touch of sexiness. As for the story over all, I have to admit, I had some doubts in the beginning. My first impression of your story that it was unoriginal, somewhat entertaining piece of fluff. But something told me it would be worth sticking it out, so I did. Honestly, I was about to call it quits, and then Lil got kidnapped. That's when the story starting really proving itself other than just another generic L/S vehicle. You handled the suspense like a professional author, and the longing between Lilly and Scotty was just masterful. And even though I suspected all would turn out the way it did, I had just enough doubts to be just about giddy when the happy ending happened. So, I'm looking forward to your sequel, and if it begins slow, I'm gonna have faith, because when your story get's legs, it really takes off. |
