I've heard that one mark of a good writer is that you get angry at the character for their decisions instead of the author for writing it that way, and man, let me tell you: Guy made me so mad that he didn't think of his team! Those kids would need him after that!

That being said, I'm always soft for Kakashi and Guy, romantic or platonic. I love Kakashi's challenge and his last line. It hurts to think of how Guy would just be part of a growing list if he had gone through with it.

I wish there were more Kakashi and Gai friendship stories...this was brilliant and well written. Thank goodness for eternal rivals:-)

You actually made me cry. You seriously made me cry with this! Do you know how hard that is? I don't know what got me about this story but something just hit me hard. I think it was how Gai found Lee in the operating room and then when he ran into Kakashi like that and the whole interaction at the end. I thought you handled it very well and I don't think you butchered the characters at all. I loved Kakashi's challenge. He would do something like that. The only critque I have is that it was a bit awkward when you used the word 'baka' in the sentences. Overall though, I really liked it. Excellent work! I liked how you brought in Neji and Tenten to because Gai wouldn't want to leave them. I wish there were more stories that showed Gai and Lee's great relationship that wasn't slash.

Nice fic, although a little sad that Lee had to die though. But wait...if he didn't die there wouldn't be this fic! So great work with Gai and Kakashi's friendship!

i have no idea why i read such sad lee-death stories. i dont know how much more my heart can take... but on a happier note, i liked this story. gai's devotion to lee is so sweet and kakashi's challenge is so lovely. keep up the good work!
