For me, it was everything a story needed: a beginning, an end, and the most fluid writing. I haven't read such good writing for a long time and it's time like this when I wish I could have a favorite list of my favorites.

I mean, I felt Horatio's pain and his helplessness, and even when I already knew the end, your ending still hit me with a cold surprise. It was short, but it was the right kind of short. Distant like Horatio had to be. But the shortness didn't stop the tragedy from bleeding through. I'm glad you didn't go line by line from what Shakespeare wrote like others. I also really like how this was from Horatio's perspective.

I loved the hand-holding scene in that film too. This interpretation rings very true - especially the febrile Hamlet, fencing with words but also Horatio, his rock; what isn't said between them, which is nonetheless all-important for all that; and the heartbreaking distance between them at the end; but that's what Hamlet needs from him at the time.

It was so refreshing to read this fanfic. So rarely do I ever find one as well written as this one. What led me to searching for Hamlet/Horatio slash was also Kenneth's version of Hamlet, in which I think he purposefully pursued the sexual tension between Horatio and the Prince of Denmark. Again, well done. The love scene was written to perfection and, yes, it was very tasteful. I enjoyed reading this very much.
