Very cute story. I've always liked the idea of the OC and Ryan and the Cohens so this was a great expansion.
talk-ape chapter 1 . 12/2/2009
aw so..cosy.
ttcarter chapter 1 . 8/29/2004
Love the very sweet ending (especially after the horror that was Christmas in Chino).
famous99 chapter 1 . 8/8/2004
I loved the juxtoposition of both holidays... The writing was tight. I enjoyed the image of Ryan and Sandy falling asleep during the movie and giving Kirsten the movie choice as a Christmas present is quite sweet...
crashcmb chapter 1 . 8/4/2004
That. Was painfully good. So nice to see Ryan in happier times, but the earlier Christmas experiences, the begging for Ray to stay, the confrontation with AJ all beautfully detailed and heart-wrenching.

This was beautiful, Loved It!
Rachel Carter McKenzie chapter 1 . 8/3/2004

Well, we worry you when we get mean for updates - ok, we won't get mean, just as long as you "make it a tradition" and make more stories like this one.
alopecia chapter 1 . 8/3/2004
wow, this was perfect. i loved how you worked in the nice construction guy who went to austin, the asshole AJ, and then the happy stuff with the Cohens. all the interactions seemed real. write more!
xerus chapter 1 . 8/3/2004
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I will be expecting more brilliance from you. You may have a day or two off while you think of your next story, but then you will be my little fiction writing slave monkey. I am a demanding mistress.
elzed chapter 1 . 8/3/2004
Oh this was just wonderful. You write beautifully, and so evocatively. The excruciating detail of Ryan's last Christmas, from the departure of the decent guy to the arrival of AJ, the way it spiral into violence and abuse, Dawn's total inadequacy, was heart-wrenching. Including Dawn's brief moment of tenderness with Ryan. And the warm fuzziness of the Cohen Christamas, with Ryan relaxing into it, until he's happily hugging Kirsten adn Sandy - fab. Tears at both ends of the spectrum. Lovely, lovely stuff...
TeacherTam chapter 1 . 8/2/2004
Wow. The pain of the first AJ/Christmas is truly palpable. Goodness, you're good.

And what a striking difference between that one and the CohenChristmukkah.

I just absolutely love that Seth and Ryan cared about Little Women. *nods head emphatically*

Yep. That's a good story.

Oh. And so is yours! :)
