This is beautiful! Very poetic prose style you have there. I completely agree that none but the sea herself can compete with the Pearl for Jack's affections. Perhaps they are but two sides of the same woman, for Jack. I like the second part as well- but I loved this one.

I love the way it goes through time and how their relationship altered before the end and it's great the way you may it so that the last words were "I do" and it just gives that little bit more impact you get with well-worded sentences and well-phrased paragraphs.

In response to a "fill in the plothole" challenge on the PPC message board, I also wrote a Jack/Black Pearl ficlet. I feel so unoriginal now. Especially since yours is the better of the two.

Jack Sparrow's one, true love is most definitely the Black Pearl. There’s no question of that. Unfortunately, much of my focus nowadays is on certain lovely young maidens who seem to think that the Pearl's place in Jack's heart should be usurped to make way for *their* paltry affections. I can’t thank you enough for this fic.

The amount of repetition in the first section is a bit too much for my taste...a little of that is just what's needed to put the sentiment into this piece, but too much can be tiring.

I appreciated Will's section as well; it's just that Jack's love for the Pearl is so often overlooked in fanfiction that the first part was especially welcome. Another great story, as always.

He was not meant for such sundries...not meant for the hearth and the home, the wife and the kids. For him only the wind and the sea and that elusive horizon and all that it holds!

Just lovely. Such insightful looks at the two grand passions in POTC. Beautiful writing, excellent characterisation. If I have one quibble, and it is *very* nitpicky, it's in Lady being capitalised, because Elizabeth doesn't have that title. Other than that - perfect.

as always, you've done a fantastic job with these two stories.
I love how you can reference the movie without blatently pointing out to the the reader that you're doing it. You have great flow, a fantastic voice, and are one of my favourite authors.
