Ouch. That's a very different take on Khan's feelings for Marla. Have you read "To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh"? I thought that filled everything in perfectly. And yet...as I sat reading this, I could all too easily hear Ricardo Montalbán's voice in the role, delivering Khan's black thoughts as you wrote them here. Very nice work.

Perhaps bad of me that I didn't read the other fic first, but...o. Chills. Khan's voice is captured perfectly.
