I haven’t time to write a proper review, but I so loved this! I know that you note it’s not the same arc as Sons of Thunder, but your characters are so consistent and charming I think I shall pretend it is! I loved the scene between Legolas and Thranduil at the end. Also, anglach’s adoration of Thranduil is adorable and touching (and sad, because Anglach...). Again, the little details of the habits shine through—tugging at his sleeves and playing with threads. Another author has him constantly fiddling with map pins during meetings (can’t remember who!), and my Legolas runs his hands down has shirt and trousers to smooth his clothing when he is flustered or anxious. I just love the cuffs though. It really stands out to me for some reason. You are unerringly consistent in all your characterizations (canon and OC alike), which is what makes them stand heads above the rest. I just LOVED this, and off to catch up On everything else I’ve missed from you since coronavirus started... thank you again for writing and posting!

Great story. I love all the detail and how you build upon these characters with everything you write, how it all ties in and how you’re able to create original characters that fit seamlessly into the canon.

Excellent story. The character dynamics in this are so lovely. And I just love the little Consistencies between all your pieces, legolas picking at his sleeve, for example.

What wily young men and how much trouble they’ve gotten themselves into. Realistic and believable, yes. But I imagine heads are still going to roll!

I have missed so many stories and updates from you, it seems! Oh, I am so looking forward to reading this story. I love Anglach and Legolas' characterizations here. They are so young and believable. Legolas here especially lends himself well to your older versions of him. I cannot wait to find out what precisely Legolas has gotten up to to enrage his brothers so, AND what the merchant has to do with all of it. Thank you for writing and posting!
