This was so good and so bittersweet. The way you write their friendship is incredibly believable and sweet, it makes it that much more heartbreaking when they have to say goodbye.

I also love how well you kept Rei in character with this, he's very hard to write and balance especially when it comes to friendships. And your Ash is also great.

Hi there, Neo! As you know I don’t really know either Pokémon or Digimon. That said, I didn’t have any trouble at all with understanding this piece. It was a simple and short tale about a friendship that is coming to an end. Rei is returning to his own world and may never see Satoshi again. That doesn’t mean there’s not still hope. So he suggests that the two come up with a secret word that they will always remember so that if they do meet again they will know who the other is. It makes sense since they are both children still and can change much as time passes. How they look today might not be how they look twenty years from now. Or forty. A secret word makes it that they can identify each other to the other and remember the friendship that they briefly shared.

The word chosen, “Konnichi wa” is perfect for this. It’s like Aloha. It means multiple things. Hello and goodbye. Love and friendship. That’s how I see their chosen word. It means hello and goodbye. It celebrates their friendship and says that there is always hope that they will meet again one day. That they chose the same word also shows the depth of the connection that they share. Pikachu also signing the letter with a paw print was really cute and showed his own sentiment for Rei.

In all this was a very short and sweet piece! Excellent job!

Awwww this is a very sweet story and I really liked the story. One thing I feel is Satoshi is probably more like Astra than Haru but that might be because I feel like Haru's quieter and less energetic. The code word sounds like an Astra thing too. Other than that, I mostly liked Rei's characterisation. How old is he in this?
