Reviews for On a Wing and a Prayer
Huckle chapter 16 . 6/21
What the heck, I've apparently read 16 chapters of this in less than a week. I need to pace myself lol
Cosmo14 chapter 22 . 5/27
Been meaning to review but just couldn't find time, plus the pressure to keep up with you went away, lol. Although the break did give me time to think and let the story sink into my mind a bit, so my final review could go a bit deeper. Anyways...

Haha, yeah, I'm actually glad you held off on the talk, it wouldn't have really fit since the ending was so close; looking forward to it! That's cartoon... So cringy and bad that it's funny, lol! Btw I know there's a way to reply to reviews directly through private messages, I've just never doneso myself since I have no stories (yet). Maybe it's a button next to each review, or somewhere in your account options under 'reviews'?

Now, on this epilogue chapter... LOVED IT! And my boy, Link, what a line! Hard to top that one alright!
"He'll still think we're insane" I laughed.
"Where's your mind at?" Pfffffftttt...!
"And it occurred to him that soon... they could" oooh what a way to end it! Beautiful thoughts and feelings there!
Overall lovely chapter, a really good one to "end" (more like "transition") on.

And now my final thoughts on this story as a whole. I knew from the beginning this would be good, back when I first found it at chapter 1, there was just a feeling this story gave me. And to my delight it turned out better than I could have ever imagined, to date the best pre-SS story I've found by far, and I've done quite some searching. You're a very gifted author, and I've enjoyed reading your works immensely, thank you for putting so much time into them for readers like me, you really put smiles on people's faces. I found great joy in the anticipation of waiting for the next chapter to be published on posting days so I could get my SS fix (lol). This was the first story I followed and reviewed as it went, chapter by chapter. It was a lot of fun, really looking forward to continuing on the next story!

I loved how you carefully built this beautiful friendship between such a nice girl and a tragedy-stricken kid who wanted to be a clamshell. You brought out so many warm feelings and beautiful scenes, no doubt I'll be reading this all over again someday. And tbh having them both actually and seriously fall in love before where the game starts feels like canon to me, it's sort of my headcannon now. You put a lot of time into details and subplots, which contributed loads to this story's richness and depth. Overall incredible story, AND IT'S ONLY THE FIRST HALF! SO excited to get reading the sequel! On a Wing and a Prayer is going on my profile's list of favorite reads and never leaving, well done!

And so it ends... :/
Psych, there's a sequel! Yay! *resumes happy dance* This oughtn't come as a surprise, but even so... I look forward to the next installment. Other than that, I haven't much to say, other than "good job, I loved the tale" and "I'll definitely reread this at least twice in the coming years". In other words, this is frankly the best SS fic (Zelink or otherwise) that I've ever read. Although, now that I think about what I've learned about story writing (which is less than if I was actually writing my own stories, of course, but more than your average Joe, since I'm looking to get into writing, or writing again if you count my writing misadventures as a 5th grader... which frankly, you shouldn't XD), I would advise that you find some sort of mystery in the base story, and expand on it, turning it into a more fleshed out story. That way, you can expand on both the world and the people involved. Also, make sure you give them something they want, and then think about how you can keep them from getting it. Sorry if this advice seems at all presumptuous, but I'd rather risk seeming that way on the chance that the knowledge helps you, rather than not give you potentially useful tips for fear of sounding like a know-it-all. So, there you go. Farewell, and happy writing!
ThrowerofBooks chapter 17 . 5/26
I read that there are 5 chapters left, and I'm getting a bit sad, since they're already completed, but then I see "sequel" and "decent possibility", and simply put, I'm taking a page out of your book (does that count as a pun?) and doing my own little jig.
ThrowerofBooks chapter 16 . 5/26
Man it's been a while, eh? Like, a month, I think. Either way, it's been too long, insofar as I'm concerned. That's just life, though, I suppose. In any case, during this chapter, rather than wanting to throw a book at you, I wanted (for a short while) to throw a book at Zelda herself because, unlike Link (who was just completely, utterly, and stupidly oblivious, as I recall), Zelda flat out knowingly does something that will cause unnecessary tensions. Were she real, and right here in front of me, I'd be conkin' her on the head saying "c'mon, Zelda! You know better!" But her coming back and joining Link on the roof was (barely) her saving grace.
As to whether or not you make a sequel, if you don't, I'll not just throw a book at you; I'll print out this very fanfiction, make it a book, and throw your own work at you... and then rush over to it and pick it up before it can sustain any unnecessary damage.
...
Actually, though, I advise you not to worry too much about my opinion on the matter. If you decide that it's best to end the story with this fic, then I'll (probably) not protest. I guess that depends on how well you end it. The best case (and the most probable) of that scenario entails me throwing a crumpled scrap of paper at your head (for old time's sake, y'know?) and leave it at that.
And, where the Leviathans are concerned, what you said is more or less what I expected, and probably what I would do, too. So, there you have it. Now, to continue binge reading this tale! I probably won't comment until Chapter 22 unless there's something I just /need/ to comment on posthaste (or risk a stroke, of course). *claps hands excitedly* Let's get started!
bladeofthebookworms chapter 22 . 5/17
Awww, this was such a perfect ending! I'll admit, I postponed reading this because I wanted to make it last as long as possible. Such a sweet, wholesome, uplifting journey this has been! I know I haven't reviewed every chapter and I'm sorry about that, because it really deserves all the reviews that can be mustered. Bravo! I'll be looking forward to whatever you write next - you're awesome! :D
Miqdad Suleman chapter 18 . 5/15
This is officially my headcanon. Link and Zelda were secretly in love throughout SS. And BotW. And TP. And... All the games.
Comic Mikeyy chapter 22 . 5/13
Holy shit. You actually made me care about Skyward Sword Link. I really need to replay that came with this as context.
Guest chapter 22 . 5/13
I need to post more detailed reviews soon. But I read through this story slowly as updates came out, and enjoyed it immensely. Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game, and not many people write for it anymore. I thought the physical violence with Groose's gang was a bit too much, but other than that, this was fantastic from start to end. I really like the backstory you gave Link, and how both child Link and Zelda came to share a similar fear of the edge. It was a highly (hehe) creative idea I never would've thought of! Expanding Skyloft's size was also a good move, and while I don't love dating drama, your presentation was well-done. All in all, this was a gem.

Thank you for making my day!
clemage chapter 22 . 5/12
Beautiful! Can’t wait to read the sequel.
Cosmo14 chapter 21 . 5/12
"Old bones", haha!
"The insturment looks very beautiful", ooh that was good Link.
"You might need a lock picked", I like this little aspect of her, wonder if we'll see it again in the sequel.
... "Well excuse me, Princess!"... *facepalm*
"had he really not paid attention in the Academy?", LOL
Good ending, Link's determination and feelings are clear and bold. Overall, you flew through these scenes with less detail than normal, but it was necessary to fit into one chapter. Wonder what the Epilogue will be...

Whoa, already four post-game chapters?! Yay, soo excited! I'm already following you, so I'll be waiting!
Cosmo14 chapter 20 . 5/12
Ah, so we didn't get any awkward talk at the start like I thought we might; it seems Gaepora needs more evidence, which I can tell he's trying to arrange for, hehe. More and more visions/dreams going on... the one with Zelda playing the lyre was so meaningful. And wow, the second half of this with just the two of them is one of the sweetest scenes yet. From showing her an empty sky, revealing what she's worth to him, their kiss- so beautiful.
Draegor chapter 21 . 5/11
Well that was something! I honestly doubted that you would make the game events happen at all given that this was the last chapter. The best thing here is how you made your story match the introduction of the game, and gave a new meaning to Zelda's unfinished sentence; I never thought that they could be dating before the Wing Ceremony but actually you make it plausible since they're hiding it. I'm curious to read you again for a post game sequel, although I must admit that I always thought it could never be the same as pre game romance, because of Zelda being Hylia. I can't help but seeing her not being Zelda anymore. But I'm curious and I really loved your characters so I'll definitely be there! Cheers :)
Queen Emily the Diligent chapter 21 . 5/10
yay! a sequel! you're amazing!
Queen Emily the Diligent chapter 20 . 5/10
I love your story. I'm sad it's almost over.
