| Reviews for The Alternate Handler |

Thispiper chapter 29 . 7h I love the slow shortening of ‘handler’ as Bucky gets used to thinking of Steve as Steve, I think that was very cleverly done. Bucky seems to be making good, though rough, progress. I can’t imagine how much harder this would’ve been without Steve and the other avengers. |
GalitMirav chapter 29 . 23h Recovery isn't linear, that's for sure. We went from the emotional high of Bucky learning that he's a person who had a life, to the fact that he doesn't know who or what he is anymore because of it. Steve was a man out of time. Bucky is a man..out of himself. It's really sad. But at least he has a strong support system. I'm glad it was Natasha who convinced him to talk to Steve, which was exactly what he needed to do. I think it was cute to end on the origin of the name "Bucky". Appropriate light-heartedness for an otherwise serious chapter. I wonder what will happen next. |
the8horcrux chapter 29 . 7/22 YASSSSSS BUCKY YAYAYYAYAYAYAYYA |
Darth Krande chapter 29 . 7/22 Impressive! Poor Steve (and poor Avengers in general) have an adult who's going through his no-stage at the age of 90-something. And what takes a normal person 2-3 years of growth to reach, he's got into only a few months after being treated as a person for the first time in long. So, that's a very understandably frustrated man in a no-no-stage. I wonder if you'll start another fic with Steve's perspective again. |
Raven of the Noldor chapter 29 . 7/22 Yes, Natasha getting people to communicate! And name, he's using his naME- |
DarylDixon'sLover chapter 29 . 7/22 Great chapter |
Lia Whyteleafe chapter 28 . 7/17 Yes. His name is Bucky. Steve rescuing him in that dream...Amazing. |
Thispiper chapter 28 . 7/16 I just love this books so much! It’s so beautifully written and everything seems so real! I love it! |
Everqueen chapter 28 . 7/15 I look forward to Wednesday’s because of this story! I hope Bucky gets to meet Hannah. |
Darth Krande chapter 28 . 7/15 Wonderful as always. (On the other hand, I can't wait to read some action again! I know Bucky is on mentally-sick 'leave' from doing Avengers superhero work, but their lives usually get eventful even when they're less than prepared, so...) I loved the memory scenes. Baby and teenage Hannah is so cool, I wonder what a family reunion could be like. I suppose Steve never had time to visit them either? And of the Commandos... They might be dead (who can tell in a superhero setting?) but they might have had offsprings... |
GalitMirav chapter 28 . 7/15 And I thought the last chapter tugged at my heart! This was amazing. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Very creative to have Steve be the one to use BARF. And nice touch having the memory be color-blind too. I like the details you provided about Bucky's family. Is that something you came up with or is it from MCU supplemental material? (haven't read much of the latter and I haven't read the comics at all). The nightmare was pretty terrifying. But at least it had a good ending. It makes sense Bucky would have that type of nightmare, and it was fitting that Steve rescued him in it, just as he rescued him in real life. :) |
Unajet chapter 28 . 7/15 I like the idea of Steve using the machine to show Bucky his past. Nice chapter. |
Raven of the Noldor chapter 28 . 7/15 That nightmare was scary! But Steve was there! |
DarylDixon'sLover chapter 28 . 7/15 Bucky still remembered, and go Bucky. |
distanceincrowdedrooms chapter 20 . 7/9 Ahhh... I was sort of hoping that at least one of the winter soldiers would be alive- was hoping for some drama/action I guess. Haha. But i guess the focus of this story is Bucky's healing, which is great. Thanks for writing! |
