It's selective vision for the cries of those who may or may not seek redemption in their most secret hearts. I don't think that I could stomach a Lila redemption (I mean apart from the one you did where Lila was Mari's BFF in another dimension and the real Lila got her butt kicked but that's /special/)

"What does it say when I don't want a redemption for Chloe and Lila and yet I am a She Ra: Princesses of Power fan who does want one for Catra? Plus as a fan of Once Upon a Time I was rooting for Rumpel to get his redemption? But I didn't want one for Starlight Glimmer and still don't?"

Maybe Chloe and Lila remind you of something about yourself. Although people's tastes are mostly random. Why do I like Star Butterfly and I don't like Mabel Pines even though they are basically the same character? No idea.

And to be honest, "Miraculous Ladybug" and "She Ra" suck. I only read Ladybug fics out of morbid curiosity. Although even the worst shows can be good sometimes ("Teen Titans Go!" is a good example of that).

I think Chloe is one of the most human characters in the show. I've always loved characters that deep down just want to love and be loved but are trapped by the masks/walls they created to protect themselves. It doesn't matter if they end up being heroes, villains or antiheroes.

It definitely speaks a lot when you root for people like Rumpel and Catra to be redeemed but not Chloe Burgeois and Starlight Glimmer. Chloe ****ed up big time, but canonwise, there was no consequences for her willingness to ally with Hawkmoth and Mayura.
Here, Chloe will feel the wait of her past and present actions. Karma for the win.

I'll be honest up front: my personal head canons of the events following Miracle Queen differ in some ways from yours. However, that doesn't prevent me from appreciating other opinions on these events.
I think you did a good job with the relative realism of this story, with realistic consequences for Chloe's actions that honestly should happen, but probably won't because Marinette has a bit of a martyr complex.

TL;DR, great story, well written, especially given the time you took to write this.

Yeah. I get the disappointment in Chloe. Lila was always a villain. Sure. for her first ep, once could excuse it as just the new girl being misguided in trying to make new friends and being liked. But one couldn't make that excuse for her by her second appearance. Meanwhile, Chloe was showing hidden depths. Actually appearing to make small steps to being a better person. And then she pulled this, and was just as bad as Lila. Just as childish, just as petulant and entitled, just as evil. She backslid in a major way.

With Feast, I am wondering how much of season 4 is going to be Guardian Monks coming to Paris to "clean up the mess". I predict that they would have strong feelings about the misuse of the Miraculous. Have opinions about it being in the possession of people they never trained, themselves. They could be powerful allies against Hawkmoth, but will they also be just as big a thorn in Ladybug's side?

Lila, Chloe, maybe monks, a repaired Peacock (plus any thing else they learned from Fu's work deciphering the tome) - things are going to really heat up. And as you pointed out (I hadn't thought of it) - Ladybug can no longer use her allies. Hawkmoth knows who they are. Worse. They are all in the same class - and add in the KwamiBuster episode - Hawkmoth pretty much has a neon sign saying "Look for Ladybug here". No idea what we're in for, but Season 4 is going to be one hell of a ride!

I really hope that Chloé redemption. I hated the season three finally so munch because of the writers relapsing her all the way back to season one Chloé.

Dang that got deep. But we have been waiting for this since day one tbh. She wasnt raised right, so really her parents are at fault. Great job on the story!

And you just mentioned 3 of my many favorite fandons! I feel you on the catra thing. At this point she has truely severed her ties with Adora like she has been trying to do the whole time so I'm interested to see how that all plays out if they do end up redeeming her. (remember zuko did the same thing with iroh and he still forgave him after he finally turned around). And starlight is an adult mare who had a normal up bringing so I have never felt she had a good excuse other then her own twisted way of thinking. I feel like rumple did get redeemed when belle passed away, but I know he is in the last season and I still havnt finished it out yet because I dont want the show to end so idk what happened to him.

Anyways, keep on writing!

honestly I knew chloe would have stumbles but this entire season proved that she has her own agenda and doesn't plan on changing. though I can see her not only getting her just desserts, I don't think Chloe will resort to being as low as Lila (At least in the way rossi does things).

but beautiful work :D I love how you sent Chloe a humble pie right in her face! I despise her as much as I do Lila (Lila the most). I hope you give Lila the same karma!

Whelp, was truly hoping for Chloe to become a better person and the fact that she was told that she was at risk, Marinette had to do something else another "criminal" is left walking around. Regardless good story and damn fast too considering the release of the episode. Cannot wait for more stories from you
