I feel bad for Reiko. Each time she finds something or someone good for her, she sees the necessity to push it away out of fear bad things happen sooner or later. Worst of all? Reiko blames herself when that happens, the poor thing...just live the moment girl!
And Rin finally meeting Sesshomaru was pure gold. I really like them interacting with each other, they are just too cute~

I gave up on Inuyasha years ago. It just lost my interest about 3/4 of the way through, so as this fic nears its end (which will not be for quite a while, I remember that much) I won't actually know what to expect. And since I didn't really care much for the show, I don't tend to read any of its fanfiction. I'm honestly not sure how I got here. But, here I am, reading this glorious piece.

I honestly love Reiko as a character, more than I ever liked Kagome or Inuyasha. She's funny, and sweet, and also a total badass diamond in the rough. Her power, basically a demon trap, is so interesting to me because of the dichotomy of her powers versus her personality. On the one hand, there is the contrast between the true nature of her power and of her heart, being deceptive and honest respectively. Then there is the contrast between the POTENTIAL of both her power and heart, which would be merciful and severe. I desperately want to see her stay true to her honest and pure self, while accessing the potential of her power to be kind and merciful, but with Naraku still pulling some serious strings, it looks like that will be really hard for her.

She's just... so smart when she lets herself trust her instincts and stops being so willfully oblivious. Yes, it is definitely charming that she is so straightforward and guileless, but man is it satisfying when she rips away the curtain covering the truth. Her realization about the prince actually being Naraku, her friendships with Sara and the lieutenant causing them to keep secrets from their lord, just the way she handles youkai in general makes me love her more and more. I was so sad to see her trying to protect Rin by rejecting her, but I am glad it led to Rin meeting with Sesshomaru. At some point, I think I was skipping past the rest of the stuff in the episodes just to see more of their story. I found it, and him, way more compelling as a character, and Rin was an amazing addition to his entourage. Again, we had the dichotomy, which I love, between his hardened impurity and her complete innocence. Maybe I'm just a sucker for hard characters being made to crumble and feel emotions.

Reiko's relationship with Rin was excellently done. I cannot stress enough how much I like Reiko as a character, she's just so easy to follow along with, like I could be having those thoughts that she has. She's just great, all around, especially with her huge flaws. Love me some character flaws. Imma follow and favorite now, because how can I not? Meow for now!

I binged the entirety of this fic in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down.

Firstly; I love Reiko. She is a very individualistic and interesting character. The farthest thing from bland without becoming a mary-sue character. I can't describe how happy I was with this fic because the words I'd likely use wouldn't say enough.

Sesshomaru is very in character and I want to give you the biggest kudos to that. Your world-building is fantastic and your history research is paying off big time because it just makes the story that much more amazing.

This is single-handedly be the best Inuyasha Fanfic with an Original Character protagonist that I've ever read. And this is definitely one of my favorite Inuyasha fanfics I've ever read (and I could swear that I've read them all.)

My days are so much better when you update because I have something amazing to look forward to reading!
