I stipped at 27th chapter or something where you merged the two mothers(im guessing) personalities and decided to skip ahead to the last 3 chapters to see where this was all going. I'm glad I didn't continue reading because you somehow managed to mess this up so badly that I feel like the first 15 chapters or so were written by someone else entirely.
I don't know why you decided that such a messy plot was a good idea but it wasn't. This fic went from being 8/10 to 4/10 real quick...

I have to say, I was really liking your story until you merged Lily and Selena with Lily as the dominant personality. After that, it started going downhill for me. As it is I just barely made it to the last chapter. I don't know what the other reader's think, but I just thought you should know that you have probably lost multiple people when you went in the direction you did.

Okay, I liked this story for the first eight or so chapters, but after Harry got kidnapped by Joker, I fully expected him to be saved by his parents, BRUCE AND SELINA. Obviously, that didn't happen. And from that point on, it became a real struggle for me to get back into this story. But now... I'm sorry. You are a brilliant writer, but I have to walk away from this story altogether. The main things that have made me need to walk away are the bashing of the Weasleys, Dumbledore being evil, Bruce being less than competent, Harry being turned into a human basilisk, Selina being used as a guinea pig by Poison ivy... oh, there were so many things that soured my enjoyment of this story.

Please understand, I'm not criticizing you or your writing style, not at all. I'm simply stating the reasons why I will not be returning to this story. And I do have to thank you, because you inspired me to try writing my own fanfiction again. I got stuck only reading for a long time, but this inspired me to try again, as well as to try my hand at Harry Potter/DC crossovers.

I wish you well in this endeavor, and hope you will wish me luck in my own.

The story has potential but the writing could use some work. Most people have grammar and spelling issues so it's not that big a deal but noticable. The characters feel decently fleshed out and make me want to know more about their role in the story and how they'll respond in the future but I can't keep forcing myself to read and find out. The same information is written 2-3 times. at least, almost consecutively (although from a different characters perspective) and is stuffed with way too much exposition at the worst times(like in the middle of the few actual conversations). I get that you're wrapping the worlds together in such a unique way (which is awesome and shows you care about the story), but a large majority just feels like pointless filler.
Please take this as the constructive criticism it's meant to be (not trying to bash), I clearly enjoyed enough of it to make it to ch.29 but feel that about 1/3 of the filler could be cut and make your story even more amazing.

The Joker is a complicated character. His crimes are not fueled by a desire for money, ambition, or other ordinary motifs. The terror he spreads is ideological and his motivations are philosophical.

Let's start by exploring his origin story. The classic one, revealed in the brilliant comic, "The Killing Joke", is that he was a failed comic trying to make ends meet to support his life with his pregnant wife. He joins a bunch of crooks operating as the Red Hood gang to make easy money. Before the day of the heist, his wife and unborn child die in an accident. He is forced to commit the crime and in the middle of it is met by Batman. Startled, he falls into a vat of chemicals in the factory where the crime is taking place and washes up outside the factory rendered insane.

It's a pretty traumatic set of incidents that get him going to where he eventually ends up. The events follow the 'one bad day' principle in that all it takes is one lousy day to turn your life upside down. Combined with his exposure to chemicals, it's the realization that life is inherently unfair and sort of comical that drives him over the edge.

His choice to commit crime and his nihilistic worldview is in a way a reaction to what he had to go through. This is also what forms the basis of his relationship with the Batman; The fact that Bruce Wayne also had one bad day and responded in an equally severe, but opposite manner to bad fortune. Joker doesn't get why Batman doesn't think of life as he likes to think of it, a joke. He's constantly trying to show the Batman that his reaction was justified.

A passage of his from "The Killing Joke" sums up his reasons for being a villain quite poignantly:

“I've proved my point. I've demonstrated there's no difference between me and everyone else! All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. You had a bad day once, am I right? I know I am. I can tell. You had a bad day and everything changed. Why else would you dress up as a flying rat? You had a bad day, and it drove you as crazy as everybody else... Only you won't admit it! You have to keep pretending that life makes sense, that there's some point to all this struggling! God you make me want to puke. I mean, what is it with you? What made you what you are? Girlfriend killed by the mob, maybe? Brother carved up by some mugger? Something like that, I bet. Something like that... Something like that happened to me, you know. I... I'm not exactly sure what it was. Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice! Ha ha ha! But my point is... My point is, I went crazy. When I saw what a black, awful joke the world was, I went crazy as a coot! I admit it! Why can't you? I mean, you're not unintelligent! You must see the reality of the situation. Do you know how many times we've come close to world war three over a flock of geese on a computer screen? Do you know what triggered the last world war? An argument over how many telegraph poles Germany owed its war debt creditors! Telegraph poles! Ha ha ha ha HA! It's all a joke! Everything anybody ever valued or struggled for... it's all a monstrous, demented gag! So why can't you see the funny side? Why aren't you laughing?”

Can we follow Harry's POV in this story? I pretty much hate all the other characters at this point. Eveery chapter just seems to be romance drama between idiots and thier past affairs... I really just want to read Harry's story tbh not how Bruce and Sirius are chasing after Selina as she goes back and forward between who she's more intersted in. Adventure and Angst are the genres set for this story and by chapte 12 I'd have thought they might have come up.

At least Selina took time out of day dreaming about one of her old flames and getting territorial over another of her old flames to spend some time with Harry. Also finally got to read Harry actually having a reaction to the stories Selena told about his parents.

Ok seriously it's really hard to sympathise with Selina when she's done so many shitty thing's and has yet to show any redeeming qualities. Honestly I'd feel really bad for Sirius if he was paired with her.

Harry completely lacks personality, I understand you'e trying to have every action reinforce his similarities to Bruce/Batman to differentiate him from being akin to James or canon Harry but he's utterly lacking in personatily outside of gruff, dull and a incompetent clone of a character so far portrayed as an idiot (Bruce/Batman).

Dumbledore is an idiot apparently which undermines the entire HP side of the story making all HP character more there for trashy romance drama than anything else as of yet (guessing we'll find out James or Dumbledore used magic on Lily and/or she was having an affair too). Fanon Mary Sue Saint Lily is present and given how you've marginalised James despite him also being head boy and top in DADA and Transfigurations has me thinking you'll also take the great man Snape route. I admit that after everything Snapes done I can't see him as a good persion, firstly if Snapes good than Voldemort is an incompetent idiot and it means I have to ignore Snape's bullying students as a teacher despite also being partly responsible for orphaning said students ala Harry and Nevile.

Aaaan Bruce is back to hogging the idiot ball. Not like Selena's intersts and location match up with Catwoman, no. Lily someone he knows nothing about is definitely Catwoman because he doesn't know anything about her, definitely.

I can't imagine Harry's going to be happy. First he thought he was "boy" and "freak" then he finds out he was "Harry Potter". Entering the magical world he learns he's "a wizard", "half-blood", "Son of James and Lily Potter" then "The-Boy-Who-Lived" followed by "Gryffindor's Golden Boy" later being accused of being the "Heir of Slytherin". After all that to learn the only ones he took pride in being "Son of James an Lily Potter" is not true and how messed up his family is along with how it was his aunt and unvle who died to save him isn't going to go well. Heck learning both his parents are alive and were responsible for not being there for him while he suffered at the Dursleys on top of that...

I don't see thing's ending with happy families.

tbh the house of cards drama requires more and more suspension of disbelief to stomach. Anyhow hopw Batman actually grows a brain sometime this centuary. Currently he's down 7 to 1.
