Yeah, I know ... you finished this over a year ago, but I just found it. Read it. Loved it. Legolas with the elven version of PTSD, and fortunately, surrounded by those best able to deal with it. Mix in the grandfather he never knew and finally, add his formidable father and ... well ... would be interesting to see where they all three go from here.

Aww, this was a sweet story. I am secretly happy we didn't have to have a scene with Legolas after Gimli's death. I have always preferred the uncanonical approach to the Fellowship, where if nothing else after they have gone to Mandos' halls they are let out in Valinor... It is so sad to see Gimli get old and frail.

I somehow think having all three of these strong personalities together may turn into a chance for complete chaos.

I really loved this. From Oropher first noticing Legolas to the fight with Oropher's friend and him finally discovering that Legolas is his grandson. I'm glad that they managed to build a good relationship and that Oropher came to really care about Legolas. His mad dash to his house at being told that there was an emergy was nicely done.

I'm glad that Thranduil finally arrived and the three of them are together.

Funny and touching story, thanks for writing! The affection between all three is well-earned, and I liked the descriptions of the Valinor elves' various reactions to the presence of Legolas and Gimli. Also liked the inclusion of Legolas staying with Elrond and Celebrians family.

The absence of Thranduil and Orophers wives (even in characters thoughts) here feels a bit odd to me. In the books they're never mentioned by name, which makes their inclusion harder as you always have to introduce OCs. I think it's because I've recently read the story by Mirrordance giving Legolas a convincing mother figure who intentionally is never named, which has given me additional thoughts on this.

I always felt like in Valinor absolute thousands of slain Mirkwood elves must be gathered, all the warriors & villagers who died over the years. In your story they apparently haven't made a new Mirkwood 2.0 of their own yet, maybe they integrated into the exisiting realms?

Things getting better between grand-father and grand-son... and POUM ! Thranduil comes to Valinor at last !
