Reviews for Anything Is Possible And Nothing Is Impossible
silver ice night chapter 2 . 3/10/2019
I approve. Muchly.
An interesting take on the training of the shadow.
sara.koch90 chapter 1 . 6/30/2018
This is incredible. I am lucky to have discovered you as a fanfiction author. It is so difficult to find great fanfictions let alone find any for a niche fandom. I have read your stories 10 years ago when my english wasn't the best (am german) but I couldn't restrain myself because I knew that they are something special. Now I find myself always returning to all of them and still loving them all if not even more because I can see how amazing, rare and incredible you are Scarlet and I I really hope this review reaches you even though it's long overdue. All the best and hoping that you still are or will be writing fanfictions.
Wai-Jing Waraugh chapter 2 . 4/1/2018
I somehow missed this story when I first started reading your Shadow series, I had to go back to read it - and boy, am I glad I did!

This is simply a stunning piece of writing. Though the setting is very different from the 1930's urban New York of the rest of your stories, it is no less believably and vividly described here. I could almost believe that *you* are a reincarnated Buddhist monk, I feel like I could walk into a temple somewhere and start learning the same lessons as Lamont. You handle all the concepts with such authority; I even googled a 'tumo' to find out if it's a real thing, how you could find out something so obscure and include it as if it were canon all along is simply astounding. Your descriptions of the invisible hypnotic forces at work, the mental and spiritual exercises, the abstract thought processes Lamont needed to learn; the film and comic versions seem to struggle to articulate that sort of thing, but you do it so easily.

The mention of Kasha in 'Dangerous Minds' and Lamont repeating the Tulku's lessons to Margo makes a lot more sense now. It's incredible how you filled the gap between Lamont giving up his identity as Ying Ko and returning home to become The Shadow; the movie only provided scrolling text as an exposition of what happened, so reading something as detailed as this is very satisfying. It made me a huge fan of the Tulku, it was sad to hear his wisdom and see the close bond he forged with Lamont, knowing he would later die. Considering all his powers, it's a wonder Shiwan Khan was able to defeat him; I can only imagine how Lamont would have felt learning about his death, if his respect and gratitude for the Tulku was anything like you portrayed here.

Reading this, I would love to read a story that bridges this one and your novelization of the movie. I'd love to see your take on what happens when Lamont reaches Hong Kong, how he develops his identity as The Shadow, how he first meets Moe and sets up his network of agents. But then I will gladly take as many of your stories as I can!

Wonderful story, you flushed out the story with a lot interesting detail. That added to shadows world. I truly enjoy reading this story and look forward to reading the others.

An absolutely incredible prequel to "The Shadow" movieverse! Well thought out, superbly executed.

I was totally engaged by the story, and the novelization of the movie. STRONGLY recommend reading all those stories printed.

Would be helpful if you put a chronology in your author profile - like as found on your website library (at least the titles).

The Shadow Movieverse - holds together, willing suspension of disbelief - easy, dialog solid, plot solid, subject matter -one of my heros! In Short, an Excellent story that begins an excellent series of stories!

Kudos!

'nuff said.
Seiberwing chapter 2 . 9/15/2008
That was utterly damn awesome-publishing worthy, really. I love the language, describing what technically doesn't exist but can practically be felt in my own mind through what you're saying. And of course, the Tulku is quite awesome.
Frostfyre7 chapter 2 . 2/8/2008
Wonderful! My compliments to your imagination, and (I presume) your research. Or if you didn't actually do any research for this, further compliments for a truly convincing and consistent tone of voice!

Wow. And I mean WOW! I realize that this was written a long time ago, but I sort of stumbled on it and I pray that this review still reaches you. You have to know what an incredible talent you have. This is by far the best FanFic story I have ever read. Your descriptions of Lamont and how he deals with emotions was incredibly, and your portrayal of the Tulku was...I'm not even sure there's words. I know little about the Shadow, although I have recently gotten swept up into the old pulp radio programs, but I love the movie and this was so easy for me to picture that it might as well be what REALLY happened. Like I said, I hope that this review still gets to you. This was an incredible story!
Pinkeye346 chapter 1 . 5/10/2004
Holy shit, this is long. And it has my stepfathers name in it. Weird. Good though.
The Cetra's Knight chapter 2 . 4/14/2004
That was very beautiful. Thank you for writing it.
shangri-la-gypsy chapter 2 . 4/11/2004

Aerafel chapter 2 . 7/20/2003
This is a fantastic Shadow story. It really captures the essence of the movie, and fills in the gap of Lamont's training with great details. I really enjoyed reading it!
32 chapter 1 . 4/30/2003
I'm impressed you managed to maintain the quality of the story and still be thorough in your description of his lessons. Good imagination. Your characterization of Tulku was great, and characterization of Cranston on point. Great story.
Corbin Slate chapter 2 . 4/6/2003
I read this story and thought that I would tell you that I really liked it. Lamont is characterized perfectly. Very smooth work!
