Whoever won that duel won't prove anything.
If Vader won, he would have won against what amount to a padawan.
If Luke won, he would have won against an invalid with prosthetic.

That said, if Vader, who have used both said Dark is stronger, I'll tend to agree with him, rather than Luke's "because people that have kidnapped, lied, and manipulated me said so".

Honestly, I'd be surprised if Luke didn't have a basic understanding of Huttese. Anyone who grew up on a Hutt controlled planet really should.
