Huh. The site says this was updated in April, but the comments seem to suggest it was last updated in 2018, with a chapter that no longer exists. I hope this story is continuing to be updated.

So far, what I've read is enjoyable. It's too early to really say much more than that. I do like that Ethan is trying to make changes but also seems to not immediately becoming ridiculously OP.

Heh heh heh. The opening is nice for an introduction. Has it’s own bits of story telling that keeps it well away from endless narration, despite being more or less uneventful. Also sets up ground for canon character interactions. Movie visual mentions are always nice (me being one of the people who saw the films first and the book maybe).

Liking it so far, nothing that led to thinking the MC had been hit with an idiot bat. Looking forward to more!

oooh is he going to get in trouble for doing that to Malfoy? Draco is the kind of kid that goes to his dad or snape, especially at the beggining. At least he's got some good dueling skills!
I hope he can befriend more people, like hermione, but I guess that will be changing a lot of things.

I like Ethan and his sense of humour. I wish he would've chosen hufflepuff tho, cause I hate Ravenclaw, but at least he will be in the same house as Luna. I hope he and tracey and daphne can be friends or something, I liked them and they are practically oc's since jk didnt write much about them. And are his housemates avoiding him because he was a hatstall? thats weird. I want to know how long he was up there! did he beat minerva's 5 and a half minutes?

This was very good and fun to read! I'm glad you're following canon harry potter world instead of making stuff up, like "magic core" and "lets have a blood test at gringotts", that stuff makes me cringe. This is honestly becoming one of my fav hp/si fics just for that, and there's only 2 chapters.
I thought it was cool that dumbledore was the one that came to get him, never read that before, and you wrote him so well! Remember when people used to cry when dumble died? I think everyone started hating him after rita skeeter wrote that book tbh, I loved your portrayal of him. I'm guessing Luna will be good too, I hate that everyone writes her as some magic seer who knows everything and lives in the same dimension as Jaden Smith. Cant wait for hogwarts!

The only thing I want criticise in this is the combining the speech sentences. You really ought to split them up.
Like, if the same person is talking, it's fine to sometimes keep it combined in one paragraph, but it's a bit disorienting and hard to read when you combine 2 character speeches into one.

I liked the pacing in both chapters a lot.
