Ooof, as soon as you brought in that subplot about "Rayne" and "Smoke" I was out of there, it's just too dramatic for my taste.

Dear WordSmyth, first off thank you for the review. I was happy to hear that you had enjoyed the first few chapters. This is my first time writing a story and actually publishing it online or sharing it with others so in many ways I am still figuring how I write and the ways a story should flow.

I originally started this story because I had a wishy washy idea of what I wanted and what I thought I could make work. As you said my style changed part of the way through, the reason being that I slowly had more of an idea of what I was imagining for this story and was and still am experimenting as I go. As far as the part of not using the Evil Overlord List as much as I could have, well, as I stated earlier the story took a bit of a different turn than I had originally expected and I will admit that I had forgotten to update the description. I had based my original character Miasma's character off of figures in the Danny Phantom universe and had started with the intention of further going into his background, but Miasma had different plans.
I am sad to hear that you didn't like the later chapters as much, but truthfully I do this as a hobby and I would love if a lot of people liked my story, but I understand that my story is different than the normal DPxYJ stories out there. I am also well aware that since my story is mainly based around an OC character that it is much less likely to be read, I myself have tried some stories only to stop reading them because of the rushed quality of the original characters that they have in the stories. (p.s. I have also read some where I have loved the OCs in the story)

Overall I am sad that you didn't like the way that my story evolved. Yes, evolved, I think that might be the best word for it truthfully. In the beginning I had a few loose chapter ideas where Miasma was some random background villain who gets tired of being taken down so easily and decides to change that. I have always enjoyed books where there is emotion and life in the characters and a deepness of detail that makes it so that you aren't just seeing the interactions between characters, but also with the surroundings. I don't know if that makes me weird, but it is who I am as a reader and that bleeds over as a writer.

I’ll be honest, the first chapter was great! I had the Evil Overlord List open on another tab so I could see which number you’d be covering in each chapter and it was great! The second was fun with how much he (Danny?) hammed it up. And the third was interesting, getting to see behind the mastermind so to speak. But after that, all the characters that weren’t him and the team and the Of Mice And Men levels of background information made it difficult to follow the plot. And by the fifth I was just scrolling through, scanning the beginning of each paragraph hoping something would happen, checking the AN in hopes that you’d return to the beginning style. It feel like the Danny Phantom crossover and the Evil Overlord List bits were just clickbait to get me to read about your intangible OC and his OC friends doing stuff. You really dropped the ball here.

For a moment, I thought Red was the villain Mad Mod lmao
This current chapter almost reads like one of those "murder mystery" riddles and I am so excited to see how Miasma pulled it off! He keeps doing these heists and I've thoroughly enjoyed each chapter so far.

Well if you're looking for things to steal, there's always "The Laughing Dragon".
It's a "Jade" Dragon in the DC universe that's thought to be cursed, all it's owners dying early deaths.
In actuality it's made of Kryptonite and it was the low level radiation killing the owners before their time.
Joker steals it at one point and takes it to Lex Luthor.

did danny learn to shapeshift ? I am asking this beacuse I can't recall any danny phantom character with brow eyes that turn green. That and you did not mention any other character in the story selection underneath the story description. Thank you for this nice story.

For those who read these reviews this the author, I just wanted to reply to the guest reviewer Matt who was wondering why I put a 2 instead of a 1. This is telling what Evil Overlord rule I am using for a prompt, they are taken from the list made by Peter Anspach. You can find the list simply seaching google for Evil Overlord list and it pops up very near the top. This story will use these rules as a main foundation for chapter prompts, but there will be times when I get an idea and just have to do it even if the rules are out of order. I may also write a drabble that is not based off a rule from the list and I just felt like writing something different!
