DRWPJT chapter 1 . 6/21/2019 That was brilliant from start to finish, great job. |
DobbyRocksSocks chapter 1 . 5/30/2018 I'm CRYING! Severus wanting to talk about feelings! I love that line so much, it's fucking glorious! Okay, this was my first foray into HoochPince, and I gotta tell you, I'm not mad at it at all. I love the way you wrote this from Minerva's POV for the most part, and I loved the misunderstanding that you used. I'm living for a weekly complaining/drinking session for the teachers - I need more of that in my life, and OMFG SEAMUS! I DIED! Also, Severus scaring Quirrel out of sitting in his seat and then not turning up anyway made me giggle. The ending is uber sweet, but the humor in this is really the shining part for me, and I loved it all so much. |
isaacswolfsbane chapter 1 . 5/30/2018 This was adorable. I clicked right away that Rolanda and Irma were engaged and that Irma was annoyed because of what Rolanda was saying about the proposal but I think that made it even more fun to read and see how Minerva and co would embarrass themselves further by trying to pity her. The end killed me when she was telling Rolanda how Severus had offered to talk about feelings. It felt very reminiscent of how I feel whenever people unexpected do things like that. The characterisation was flawless, and I love the little extra details you added into it like Poppy withholding the hangover cure and letting them deal with it, and Snape only showing up to scare Quirrell off. The weekly drinking/bitch session has me living. I would 100% organise something like that if I was a teacher. I love getting to see them all interact with each other instead of just the students, and especially with alcohol involved they become completely different people while still being in character. Amazing. Great job :) |
Someone aka Me chapter 1 . 5/29/2018 I'm CACKLING. Okay so tbh I kiiiiiiiinda saw the ending coming but I liked that the reader got to experience it with Minerva as she realized how wrong she was. I loved reading this. I love the humour interspersed throughout. I love seeing all of the Professors attempting to soothe Minerva in their own ways. I really started cackling at the end though. SEVERUS HOLDING OPEN A DOOR AND IRMA'S JUST LIKE WTF IS HAPPENING WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME GET AWAY FROM ME WITH YOUR FEELINGS and I died laughing. AND THEN IRMA BEING PROTECTIVE OF HER LIBRARY I LOVE IT Honestly this fic is making me want more soft gay professors in my life can I climb aboard this ship with you. I love how well you've fleshed out the relationship between Irma and Rolanda here, because it FELT like the kind of thing that's been happening forever, with old jokes and easy comfort around each other and THIS PLEASES ME. drama queen rolanda trying to propose with a quidditch pitch gives me life. and irma's just SO DONE WITH HER SHIT like dumbass i don't need a quidditch pitch I just need you and I LOVE IT. basically all of this is perfect and hilarious and I adore it. |
NatashaJaniphil chapter 1 . 5/24/2018 Fun. |
MissingMommy chapter 1 . 5/20/2018 I'm cackling because this was so great. I saw the pairing and then when Rolanda went off about the proposal, I was hoping this wasn’t a cheating fic because Irma never struck me as a Quidditch lover. I was glad it wasn’t and that it was the biggest misconception ever. First off, I like the idea of them having a night where they drink and complain about the students. I was outright laughing when they mentioned Seamus and his uncanny ability to blow shit up accidentally. It was also a real subtle mention of when this takes place which is always nice. And poor Irma. Her day was so confusing. But I liked that the other teachers were trying to be good friends and be there for her because they assumed that she was heartbroken. Their hearts were really in the right place. And I fucking loved that even Snape was like, “we can chat about our mutual heartbreaks.” Perfection. And Rolanda was so unapologetic about it. It seems like she was a bit salty that Irma proposed first. It was also hilarious that Rolanda was aware their coworkers didn’t know they were dating and still continued on as if it was Irma she was talking about. This fic was just brilliant. |
jennybenny2845 chapter 1 . 5/17/2018 That guest review was me. I wasn't signed into my account :O |
Guest chapter 1 . 5/17/2018 This fit the prompt of an adventurous person seeking chaos well. And, oh my, did Rolanda create confusion! She had everyone baffled all day! We don’t know much about Rolanda or Irma aside from their professions. You did a great job developing their personalities. Rolanda’s proposal, which we later find out was her *preferred* method suited her character. I loved how Irma wasn’t having any of it and proposed. Because Irma’s has a point – no way in hell is she catching a Snitch. I’m curious to read about Irma's proposal, and I assume it wasn’t anything over the top. The professors were confused, and so was I until the reveal, which I’m sure is what you wanted. I enjoyed reading another side of them and liked how they interactions, especially while drinking. They seemed relaxed. I have to acknowledge Severus – he didn’t appear often, but when he did, I smiled. You hit his personality right on the nose! I laughed at the image of him attempting to comfort Irma and glaring into his coffee. Sometimes, coffee does have all the answers! The interactions between Rolanda and Irma at the end sold this for me. I loved their back and forth banter, and how Irma tries hard to stay upset, but gets distracted by Rolanda’s charms. I understood Irma’s annoyance over no one knowing that they were in a relationship, and it makes me think she didn’t want to keep it private. Stylistically, I liked how you told it from different POVs, though it threw me off briefly until I got the hang of it. Overall, a great story focusing on minor characters! I enjoyed it! |
Haleyhmweasley chapter 1 . 5/13/2018 There are so many parts of this story that legitimately had me laughing out loud. I love it. Minerva's and Filius' narrations were both gold. I loved getting to see their points of view and getting to see how the teachers interact with each other. I love that they have nights for getting drunk and complaining. I wish I could sit in on some of those and listen to their stories. Snape scaring Quirrel off and also trying to comfort Irma were probably the two parts where I laughed the hardest. I also love how, as a reader, the truth is very obvious but you also get how the other teachers are oblivious to it. It makes for a very fun story. |
hmweasley chapter 1 . 5/13/2018 A dragon rescuing group sounds like a fun idea. I love that they first get the idea while drunk yet stick with it later. It's also amusing that Charlie winds up being the sort-of leader despite not really understanding how that game to be the case. My favorite part of the story is probably how vibrant all of the characters are. Despite there being a lot of characters introduced in just a few thousand words, they all feel fleshed out, and I can tell them apart from each other as opposed to them all feeling more or less the same. Marvin is probably my favorite. I love how he just casually informs them that his dad's on the run from Aurors. |
halcyon epochs chapter 1 . 4/18/2018 i'm not sure why i haven't reviewed this yet. i remember brainstorming this fic together, you even said "I'm writing pince&hooch in a relationship because I can." i only have three words to say: damn it, sophy. i love the suspense. it's hilarious. i almost died at irma being jealous of herself. and hooch. this is my all-time favorite moment in this massive thing. irma is perfect. we don't know much about her, except that she's the grumpy librarian. and you showed that perfectly here. #pinchforever (cwl). i will gladly co-captain this ship with you. ilysm. |
