Fucking BRILLIANCE! Maybe you could look towards a Command and Conquer style Terran faction in X-COM as you have the Airbase, which is similar in function to all Command and Conquer air production centers. Or maybe it is like Act of War's Task Force Talon, what with the Vespene Derricks acting like Oil Derricks and the Airbase being like the Aircraft Control Tower; which would mean that MEC units would be like the S.H.I.E.L.D units, and have two weapons in combat. It is just a thought, but you do you, as I am already loving both your stories focused around X-COM, and thus I don't need the above ideas implemented for this story to be great in my eyes.

Pretty major nitpick, very few of the alien species are entirely organic, almost all of them have cybernetic implants of some sort. The same goes for Protoss and many Terrans (especially Terrans in combat roled)

I almost thought you abandoned this story. Good work.
