I think its fabulous as it is. But its definitely a two-parter. It just needs a little heart to heart and life reaffirmation for the doc. He looked a little less devastated when he walked into siscos office. Perhaps thsrs a missing scene for actual cannon rather than tha au you wonderfully created. I'm going to follow the story on the off chance this review helps the unsettledness your feeling with this fix-it-fic

That is one beautiful bit of writing! You have such a good take on O'Brien and his wife Keiko, their reactions, and especially O'Brien's concern for his friend. Keiko's reaction to the fact that genetic engineering was practiced on Dr. Bashir is spot on.

I'll readily admit that I was not moved to tears, because I hardly react to anything, but I found it touching, a lovely illustration of concern for a friend, of wanting to help someone through a difficult time in his life. O'Brien knows what friendship means.

Thank you for posting this missing scene, good to see Miles reactions as a close friend, but more importantly as the parent of small children. Also, the conversation was spot on.

Oh - this was so lovely, I had tears in my eyes reading most of it! So wonderful to read something from Miles' perspective, and certainly one with so much love and compassion! I know Miles supported Julian in the main story, but it's still wonderful to see him so expressive of his love and understanding here!

Really well written. I think maybe a touch could be added to clarify Keiko's initial response, but nonetheless beautiful writing. This subject always breaks my heart into pieces. well done.

Hmmm, Keiko had an interesting reaction. I wasn't sure if she was disgusted by Julian, or just trying to process it all (at like 0 hundred hours, might I add...sleep does strange things to a brain). I can't remember if she was on Julian's side in your longer story. I hope she was.
