Pat chapter 3 . 7/6 This is an exciting start and I'm looking forward to more :) I'm eager to see how the Captain handles his situation. |
Suzy chapter 3 . 10/26/2019 This is quite lovely. Any chance that you might write more of this? |
DibbsB chapter 1 . 10/24/2018 I LOVE your writing and this story. I like your take on how Georg unwittingly is turning his attention away from Elsa toward Maria. It is her approval he seeks and he senses that it is also Maria who understands him and would be sympathetic to his feelings about the Nazis. He senses that Maria is connected with him in a way Elsa never could and his constant glances are his attempts to see if what he feels might be what she feels as well. Isn't that so true of the beginning of a relationship? You find yourself constantly staring at the other in hopes of seeing that you resonate with them as much as they are with you, but then you feel embarrassed when they do turn and look at you, because you realize they now know you were staring. Even though neither wants to admit it, they are both intensely aware of each other and are both having a hard time concentrating on the others around them. I really like this tension you are building! I sure hope you'll continue. I so love this story! |
Nienna.Earfalas2 chapter 3 . 9/7/2018 Oooo... I look forward to the next update! |
escaperealityandread chapter 3 . 6/29/2018 Really enjoying this story! I love the immense pressure you incorporated with the timeline to propose to Elsa and the Hitler youth program as I think those are very real stressors that the captain would be feeling. Can’t wait for the next chapter :) |
IDontKnowYourSignal chapter 3 . 4/3/2018 I've been mega busy, so am only now catching up on a huge backlog of reading - and I loved both the last two chapters. I love how Maria is capturing Georg's attention - he's intrigued, but not sure why. He's desperate for her help to mend his relationship with the children, and even more desperate for her approval (again, he's not sure why). I adore the stark contrast between Maria and Elsa - Georg sees it, both women see it. But Elsa is feeling uneasy about the young woman who's now governess, while Maria feels uneasy in the shadow of Elsa's beauty and sophistication. Loved Elsa pulling away from Georg when she realised he was soaked. And it seems that Max is the only one seeing things clearly... As Clare noted, you can really feel the burden of Zeller's threat weighing down on Georg. Intriguing story, love it so far! |
Clare chapter 3 . 2/22/2018 What a dilemma for Georg. Fab writing. You can sense the weight on his shoulders. On one hand he doesn’t want to be pushed into proposing to Elsa by Zeller, but on the other he’s just viewing it as speeding up the plan he already had despite his doubts. And he’s nowhere near falling in love with Maria yet because it’s early in proceedings so it’s going to be interesting to see how this develops. Looking forward to more. |
Clare chapter 1 . 2/9/2018 Fab twist! Love how Herr Zeller turns up early and comes out with all kinds of threats and nasty ideals. Him practically pushing Georg to marry Elsa too, can’t see that working in E’s favour. I’m sure G won’t be told what to do by the Nazis. Should be interesting this? Look forward to the next update. |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/8/2018 Definitely want to read on! Wonderful start to some plot spice and greatly appreciate your writing skills! |
BlossomOfEdelweiss chapter 1 . 1/6/2018 This is a great start. I think it's vey interesting that you have mentioned the Hitler Youth because I don't believe it has ever been brought up before. It definitely would have been expected that Georg's eldest boy be involved with it. Interesting threats from Zeller as well. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes for Georg and Maria as far as the whole marriage expectation goes. |
IDontKnowYourSignal chapter 1 . 1/5/2018 I was so excited to see that you have a new story! And your writing has lost none of its beauty. Loved Georg's thoughts during the confrontation with Maria. But his confusion and pain at hearing his children sing was heartbreaking. You captured his undying love for Agathe in such a touching way. A man struggling to move on, still dealing with the sudden loss of his wife even after the years that have passed. Herr Zeller's arrival at the villa is certainly a different turn of events. Especially now that he is almost commanding Georg to marry Elsa. Can't wait to see what happens next. |
bloomandgrow chapter 1 . 1/3/2018 I loved the Captain's inner thoughts through the dramatic scenes by the lake and then being emotionally reunited with his children. Zeller's appearance is intriguing, spouting all his vile drivel about Aryan families and Hitler Youth and trying to force Georg to marry Elsa. I am fascinated where you are going to take this story. Looking forward to more. |
