Beautiful story. I love the way you write Steve and you wrote Hopper's and Jane's relationship really well. Great story and very ver very well done. :)

Wow. Okay.

So I have read this story, at least, ten times because that's how much I loved it. And I've been meaning to leave a review for so long but it would always slip my mind! Sorry about that!

I need to start off by saying that this is one of my FAVORITE stranger things fics I've read so far. After watching season two, I have been craving scenes with Steve having real interactions with Hopper and Eleven. And sadly I never got that with season 2. Back on track. Your characterization of all of the characters are so SPOT ON. No one felt out of character. Your attention to detail is impeccable. I've seen some writers who over overboard and others who don't put enough. You have put in literally the perfect amount of detail. It all flows so nicely and it's so easy to read. UGH! I JUST LOVE YOUR STYLE OF WRITING!

And can I just say, Hopper taking Steve back to the cabin to look after him, oh my god *clutches chest* that was so amazing. I highly doubt Steve's father has ever been that warm or caring towards him. It was so nice and refreshing to see Steve gain a father figure and even better that it's Hopper! And, oh my god, when Eleven got up so that she could run the questions by Steve, that was just too cute! In fact, all of the scenes between Steve and Eleven were just top tier. The whole conversation about eggos and how Eleven should have fresh ones. That was like one of my favorite bits in this story.

Honestly this whole story is just amazing. I wish there was more but you also ended it in the most perfect way. I'll definitely be re-reading this story because it will never get old. Thank you so much for writing this amazing story!

Aww Eleven taking over one of the 'wake up' shifts and then curling back up in bed with her bear was sweet.

I loved Eleven naming Steve a protected friend and trying to get him to eat Eggos to make him feel better ("Friends eat Eggos. Friends feel better.").

"He thought he'd done a good job of not vocalizing it, until he refocused on Eleven, whose eyebrows had disappeared into her hairline." - hee, I like that he then tells her not to repeat any of that.

I like this character combo. Thanks for putting Steve with El and Hopper. I enjoyed the Hopper characterization. it had just the right about crankiness laced with care and concern. Nice work.
