Aww, how have I not read this one yet? It’s adorable? & again, really true to/in character. Possibly the best “Tales of Leo” follow-up out there...definitely one of them.

Oh you want ideas for one-shots, huh? Well more like this, all brotherly-love/emotional angst is always great... It’d be cool if you tried out the saved-by-the-time scepter motif. Oooh, or your own take on what each brother’s fears in “The Darkness Within” could have/should have been. (I was flabbergasted that the show didn’t have them all experiencing different versions of losing all their brothers cause...like obviously that’s their biggest fear.) Or in a similar light, what Draco/the Ultimate Ninja really would have thought would have made them suffer when they sent the brothers to different dimensions/timelines (Cause beside from Donnie’s “Same as it never was,” which admittedly was fantastic, they all had fun/went on badass adventures).

Beautiful companion piece to “Tales of Leo.” An excellent exposition into what such a blow does to each brothers’ confidence. Loved that picture of Raph’s look of Pride...gosh he & Leo are such a tragic pair...this makes your current story all the sadder. Again, beautifully written!

You asked for one shot requests...well you write Leo/Raph brotherly fluff & angst so well, I’ll request more of that...maybe near misses. Death is so final, after all (unless it’s in an alternate universe or there’s time travel involved).

I don't think you've ever said it before, to be honest, but it's possible I could have just overlooked a mention of it. In any case, if I come up with a request, I'll be sure to send it your way.

As regards the story, I think the hardest part of life is fully accepting that the ones you love are as mortal as anyone else. Not an easy part of growing up, but certainly one we all have to face at one point or another, even if it hurts to face. And these guys are no exception to that rule.

First of all, welcome back! I’ve missed you!

Secondly, I have to say the second I saw that you’d published a doc I was estatic! And your fic definitely didn’t disappoint. I might be biased since your fic hits all the rights buttons for me

But I’ve always thought that what attracted me the most to your fics is how fair your character portrayal is. Each character is never stereotyped or pigeon holed. Sure you might concentrate on one character but the personality of the others never suffer.

I was thinking about how was it that Ralph would be the one to reach the conclusion he did before realising that you took into account the fact that while donny is definitely the smartest and mikey the most perceptive but Raph would be the one most open to realising the truth about their big brother. Particularly a truth he’s suspected even before but never really had proven until than. (And I think a part of him wishes it hadn’t been)

But I love how ultimately it’s pointed out that the invincibility they all expected from Leo comes from their unity. Not Leo alone. I think that’s my favourite part of the fic. The idea that it’s never been Leo who was nigh invincible and all powerful. It was and always be them together that really gives them the strength to fight the battles they have too.

Thank you for that. Instead of having a more superficial fic you managed to tell a deep yet subtle story of the turtles dynamic in just one fic. Thank you. Hope to see more from you.
