- now *that* is fantastic imagery. Wow. This story is heartbreaking,all the more so because it is so true to character for them all. It's oging on my favourite stories list.

When I saw the overview for this story, I cringed inwardly. It was labelled Angst/Romance, that combination of my two least favorite genres. ("Angst" because I know what the word means in German, and "Romance" because I just don't like romance.) But I said, "What the hey," and read it anyway.

And boy, was I glad I did! It is very well written, neither too plain nor too overwrought. The scenes which need to be "onstage" are shown, and the ones that are better left hidden are implied nicely. The characters act realistically, and stay true to themselves within the body of the story. And you have also managed to convey ambivalence and resignation very nicely, which is something many writers struggle with.

There is a minor problem with construction of plurals, but that is a piddling matter. This story is just long enough to express what needs to be said, and to express it very well indeed.
