I always figured that the Comet Materia was, like, A Lesser Offshoot of the Black Materia. Sort of like a Bahamut to Bahamut Zero sort of situation. (Maybe Sephiroth spent a while sinking AP into mastering the black materia in an attempt to sommon More than one Meteor, and found himself Very Annoyed by the lackluster results)

I kinda think I might want more.

Holy cranoly I have finally gotten around to reading this! One of the posters on the forum linked to your work and I was like, 'DUH THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN NEEDING IN MY LIKE'. This put a stinking tear in my eye! Not only because mentions of Cloud's Mum gets me emotional in general but because of those small, familiar details like the way she speaks to him and the taste of the soup that Cloud is served. These little pieces that make up someone's home. MMMMMMMMM is the sound of me trying to hold back the feels!

I was cracking up at the start with Cloud musing on what the hell was happening to him. It's so absurd, yet, it wouldn't be one of the -worst- things to have happened to him considering the life he's lead XD.

What is going on? This is a one shot you say? Is it an offshoot of some epic story you're going to be bestowing upon us fans? I was just thinking the other day how lucky it is that a talented author such as yourself has wandered into the fandom and contributed your talents to its fanfiction. Cheers to you!

Ha! It's good to know that I'm not the only one who boggled at 'Comet' and 'Meteor'. I agree that there should be more good fics involving Mom Strife. This one works great as a one-shot; don't change it! I don't think it needs to be extended. Nice to hear that you've already got more in progress. I look forward to reading them. Kudos.
