I was crying through this whole story, but it was so good!

ever since i watched that one video on youtube about the what if Moana was secretly a demigod because Maui was actually her father, the same group did a video on what her spirit animal would likely be: sea turtle.
that sparked an idea that i love. Moana became a demigod who is also a shapeshifter and like the giant hawk is Maui's signature animal a giant sea turtle is Moana's , i started doing a fic where Moana and Maui get together and near the end of her life Maui and their son took her to Te Fiti to beg she be made a demigod and when she did she regained her youth. theres more to the story but i havent gotten around to typing up and posting what i've written.

Maui is going to be meeting a very different Moana.

I am not old yet, but you captured Gama Moana beautifully. I've seen young beautiful girls transition into old beautiful woman. the blaze is gone but the coals are still warming.

Oh wow that just made me cry and laugh I like bed it

Aarrghhhhh, If there were ways to just keysmash and have your message come across clearly, that's EXACTLY what I would do. Every time I think that there's no way this is going to break my heart further, there's no way this is going to get sadder, it's GOING to end happy...you go and tear my heart to SHREDS. Part of me was expecting Moana to have died after eight years, but the concept that she would constantly return to talk to Maui shreds my heart to pieces in more ways than one.

AND YOU INCLUDED A HONGI. It's so, *so* rare to see a platonic hongi written between them, and in this situation it just makes it so much sadder. I was expecing maybe a hug, but for them to press foreheads? for Moana to sort of cradle Maui to reassure him that she'll always be with her? That's...that's just harsh.

I've really loved this story! I think you're super talented and I would love to see more writing from you, whether it's a prequel/sequel to this story or one that has nothing to do with this one at all. Overall, "SDLKJDFLKHGKJLR", and I've loved this story from the moment chapter one went up to now. O u c h.

Aarggh, I knew the *second* I read the title that this chapter would mess around with my emotions, but I don't think anything could've prepared me for what I actually read. I actually choked up a little bit at the mention of all of her passed loved ones being atop that boat with Feleti. I grabbed at my shirt when you mentioned that Tala was the only one to turn back around and smile at Moana.

UGH, and if my feelings weren't already destroyed, you went and connected Moana keeping all of her dead loved ones close to her heart and the tattoo Maui has of her over his own. Curse you.

This was a really good chapter! I can't wait to see where the story goes from here
