Reviews for Stars and Cigarettes
Razell chapter 3 . 7/14/2019
Beautiful. Angst, with a bittersweet ending. At least, for those of us who watched the movie.
Jimmy's so beaten down he literally can't imagine people actually being kind to him. That's horrible, but it happens all too often. Hayes has to move slowly, gently, like he's dealing with an injured animal, because Jimmy can and will bolt when he feels threatened. He deals with the situation wonderfully, and even helps Jimmy see himself as having a place on the ship, a place in the crew. A home. And that's exactly what he needs.

I like that you went back and forth with the POV, so we can see what both are thinking and how they react to the situations. You did a wonderful job.

There are so many neglected fandoms, and the Kong movies are among them. It's sad, but there are still fans out there like me who enjoy these fan works.
GryphonFledgling chapter 3 . 5/14/2017
Ahhhhh. This was exactly what I went looking for, but didn't realize at the time. Just rewatched the film for the first time in years and I just wanted to know what the fandom, if any, still though about it. And this was perrrrrfect. This was probably the most developed relationship of all the ones in the movie, and I'm so happy to see it being talked about more. Seriously, this was fantastic.

Thanks for uploading this. I actually really loved this movie and always wished it got more attention. Jimmy and Hayes were my favorite characters, so I really enjoyed this. Very cute, sweet little story. Jimmy was such an interesting character for only being practically a background character in one single film.
