Reviews for A Story of Seven
Silkie chapter 2 . 11/4/2018
Love your take on Maglor here! Daeron is also one of my faves. Maglor (in the next to last paragraph) is faulting Daeron for all his perceived advantages, but we should remember there was only one thing Daeron ever wanted: Luthien. He didn't really expect to marry her, I don't think, but nobody expected Beren to come plotzing through. When Daeron lost her, it was forever too. Maglor doesn't know all this, so I forgive him his envy! This was well done!
Guest chapter 4 . 8/11/2017
Hmmm One would think Moryo's sin would be anger instead of greed... anyways it is good. :)
Guest chapter 7 . 6/6/2017
Wonderful and convincing.
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 7 . 4/19/2017
The poor little guy! Also, there's some weird text about halfway through the second segment of this chapter: "r32; r32;". I don't know what that , great job!
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 6 . 4/19/2017
NOOOOO! Not the poor little one! Poor lil twin.
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 5 . 4/19/2017
Wow, he has some pent up rage. I didn't expect him to bring up the whole "imprisoned-by-Morgoth" thing.
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 4 . 4/19/2017
I was not expecting Mannish curses to pop up! But that was cool. Can't wait to keep reading.
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 3 . 4/19/2017
I thought that the followers of Artemis would pop up somewhere. Percy Jackson amarite? B) No, but I really love what you've been doing. The Lust part above is kind of why I disliked Celegorm. Keep your hands to yourself, man!
DaughteroftheValar1701 chapter 2 . 4/19/2017
I have been LOOKING for a story that tells of Elrond and Elros' childhood! Thank you for doing it so well!
cheekybeak chapter 7 . 3/31/2017
Oh a Feanorian intervention! So good! Poor Amras. He certainly had reason to los himself in addiction. The twins are described as so close I don't not know how he managed to survive his brother's death psychologically.
I loved this series. The concept of linking them to the seven deadly sins was a good one. Such a great opportunity to show us more of a depth to each of them.
cheekybeak chapter 6 . 3/31/2017
Loved this! Pityo being dyslexic ...what a great idea :-) but tell me ... Did you really just kill him off on the burning ships? OMG!
cheekybeak chapter 5 . 3/31/2017
Curufin is my least favourite of the brothers. I think because I am a Finrod fan and Curufin seems more complicit in the whole Nargothrond mess. He seems spiteful and vicious to me it out any good traits to soften that. But then you show me him as a parent, and suddenly I see his softer, more caring side.
Although sadly for Curufin I think Feanor's bad behaviour and the oath came along and took that ability to protect and nurture his own son away from him. So sad.
cheekybeak chapter 4 . 3/31/2017
Ah Caranthir. Poor overlooked Caranthir. All the other brothers have great skill and all Caranthir gets is being cantankerous and difficult to deal with. So unfair. He is the perfect example of a forgotten middle child.
I think these sketches of him are my favourite so far.
cheekybeak chapter 3 . 3/31/2017
I have always been confused by Celegorm's reaction to Luthien. It seemed incongruous and I settled on it having to be some kind of magic or sorcery that she used to manipulate him. You version kind of fits into this had canon of mine.

Celegorm and Aredhel are kind of star crossed lovers who could never be, I wish she had run off to Celegorm instead of Gondolin but Fingolfin never would have allowed it and she is the best example of a sexism obviously inherent in Noldor society then.
cheekybeak chapter 2 . 3/31/2017
Oh, so wanted to see what happened when Maglor sung! How bad was it? I do understand his envy though...at what he could have been in a different life, perhaps if he had been Fingolfins son and not Feanor's?

You wrote a surprisingly sympathetic veiw of Elwing, with Maglor not being critical of her for abandoning her son's but suggesting terror drove her too it.
I have to admit I see her as an addict. So consumed by her addiction, (the Silmaril) her sons faded into insignificance beside it. I do think Elwing was a very mentally fragile person.
