I thought that this was awesome! The writing style was sophisticated and fit well with the feel of the story - if "Mercy Street" were a book, I imagine this is what it would sound like. I like how you touched on most characters' feelings and actions at the end of the show; it felt conclusive, and I thought it tied everything together and up effectively. The letter was an awesome idea, and I thought you did a great job portraying and exploring the characters, keeping them close to how they were in the show. Thank you for posting this story.

Love all the references to Emma being bird-like . . . such a perfect description, such as the one at the very end: " . . . the way a dove could be, waiting for the dawn."
Great job on these continued ficlets! :) So so sad that Mercy Street was cancelled :( . . . but this last season brought us some truly memorable moments!
