Epic. Awesome. Fantastic. You pick the word you like the best since they all apply. Don't worry about this story seeming too dark. It wasn't at all and I'm not just saying that because of all the way darker shit I've read.

I began reading this story knowing full well what the premise was, but still the things that the Other Rick did still made me bristle in anger and very nearly cry along with Morty. The narrative was excellent and clearly conveyed the plot as well as each character's emotions (and in the case of the Other Rick — the lack of it).

As for the plot, it is very plausible that Morty wouldn't be able to tell his own Rick from any other, but at that level of meanness, he should've known something was up! But still, I like that there were multiple sources of conflict, giving a high sense of suspense throughout.

My favorite part was when the real Rick was fixing the portal gun. It was a brief moment of reprieve, a much-needed reconciliation and reconnection. I thought it was really well-done. :D

This was really well written, and a very sweet take on the grandfather/son bond between the two of them. I know I probably should've commented on every chapter but I never have been much for self control and your story just had me engrossed. It made me fangirl in a way only a Rick and Morty story could, and you did a spectacular job keeping both of them in character and have Morty's dialogue down to a science. I really hope you post your other story (If you haven't already, I'mma look after I post this) . I'd be very interested in reading it and violent and traumatizing are right down my ally.
