This is sad but it does a good job of explaining why Hauler only appeared in the first episode and was never mentioned again. I feel really sorry for Grapple too but it's good that talking to Spike made him feel better.

This is a wonderful character moment for Spike and Grapple. The "forbidden subject" that the Autobots refuse to talk about affects Grapple more than them, but it does bring a mutual respect between him and Spike. Great work on this one-shot, my friend.
