I'm very relieved that Kaia was unaware of the extent of Merlin's sacrifice. If she was aware of it and acting calm, I wouldn't have been able to appreciate her as much as I normally do.

Is Kaia not aware that the sacrifice demands Merlin's life? If so, I would imagine, maybe not resentment, but I wouldn't imagine her being okay and accepting that Merlin will die for Arthur, and that he'll die very soon. Seeing her comfort Arthur is fine, but the thing that kinda surprised me was when she said "Hush, Arthur, you'll be alright. Merlin will make it so." The price of that [making him okay] is Merlin's life and as his sister, I don't imagine she'd be okay enough to reassure someone she knows in passing, that Merlin will sacrifice himself for them. I guess I just imagined that she'd do more to prevent her brother's death for Arthur who is her sort of acquaintance, if she was aware of the exchange.

Just because Merlin is fine with the sacrifice, doesn't mean that Kaia or even Hunith should be, as well. Rather, like Gaius, I'd expect that if they knew what was going on, they would take action and attempt to take Merlin's place. She could honestly leave Gaius or even Gwen to tend to Arthur and try to save her brother. The way I see it is, 'what good is being kindhearted and loving, if you don't demonstrate those gifts to the people you love most?'.

“It was her turn to be shocked when he slowly lowered himself to his knees as well. He faced her, bringing a hand up to cup her cheek. "I told you once that you will never be just a servant to me. I mean that. I never want to see you on your knees, begging me for anything like you are lower than I am, ever again."” I AM SCREAMING GOOD LORD. THESE TWO. I CANT.

This entire chapter has me screaming into my pillow. These two will literally be the death of me. Good lord.

My prince. I AM WEAK. Kaia and Arthur are murdering me, slowly and painfully.

I AM WEAK. The whole dancing in the courtyard had me smiling and giggling like a little girl. Kaia and Arthur will be the death of me and they’ve hardly interacted. I’m a mess.

Have tried to review 5 times now it wouldn't let me... but i want to say that i love this book so far it has amazing quality and is by far the best Merlin fanfiction i have read.

This place keeps deleting my reviews hopefully this one works. I have a few things to say about this this.
1) Wow
2) some of the best writing i have seen
3)i am hooked

Holy... that was...just wow. I can only read the first chapter at the moment but wow. I am already hooked. That was some of the best writing i had ever seen, well read.

I'm so confused right now. But I'm also glad that there will be a sequel.
