Spock is such a complicated character to write for, and I think you handled him wonderfully! I also appreciated the humor in this chapter between the characters. The "You're getting married, not buried. Smile." comment was cute. :-D Nicely done!

Aw, Chekov with a crush is so cute! And that last line was laugh-out-loud funny!
Just a suggestion...since you kept changing POVs "mid-section", maybe you could add a few more horizontal lines between the views of different people? It would make it slightly easier to follow.
Still, I loved this! I don't think it necessarily needs a sequel, but if you were to write one I'd be happy to read it! :)

How did I not see this story before? Silly me :D Anyway, great job. I'm not really into the Uhura/Spock reboot pairing either (and definitely not in TOS, ugh), but it's okay in my opinion. Spock was a perfect combination of logical and completely clueless. And McCoy's dialogue had me laughing from the start :)
As for who to ship Jaylah with...somehow I can't see her with Chekov, and really can't see her with Kirk. Though it's kind of cliche, I actually like her and Scotty together. Still, your story, your choice :)
Next chapter I'll try to read and review sooner.

Hahaha, first off, her and Keenser would be the funniest yet oddly adorable couple I have ever seen. I definitely don't ship her with Jim (but you already know who I ship Jim with... so I might be biased.) I've sadly only seen Beyond once, so I can't remember how much interaction she has with Chekov. I think I'd like to see her shipped with someone other than Scotty, if only because the movie was kind of implying it if I remember correctly. She seems like the type of girl who would be able to make friends with dudes and not have to fall in love with them.
Anywho, mini rant over, on to the actual review! I really liked this! The internal monologue was really good and felt in character. I love that Spock isn't quite sure what he's feeling but he's more willing to accept it. Also the fact that Bones and Spock seem a little closer, something that is totally going to be a product of the last movie. Gah! Jim being the adorable supporting friend, like, Spock needs to be alone, everybody leave. And dude, remember to breeeeathe! Loved it and I would love to read another chapter! :D

Chekov

Very sweet and romantic

A Chekov pairing would be cute, Scotty is more like friend and Kirk would be ridiculous, she's too smart for him. Plus, she is entering Starfleet Academy. Maybe a long distance galaxy pairing with Chekov...

Beautiful story! Loved Spock acknowledging the changes in himself, and in his relations with his colleagues, now his friends and family.

And, Leonard McCoy's advice was very sweet and poignant! I hope that, somehow, it's not too late to reunite with his ex-wife and daughter, even if they never remarry.

Looking forward to seeing the ladies' point of view here, especially the bride's.

And, of course, the newest member of the Enterprise tribe, Jaylah.

Nice job. Many don't like Uhura and Spock together...but for AOS, it fits. Bones and Kirk...and Nyota can show Spock the many different faces of Humanity...And it is in this manner Spock will really peace out his family on the Enterprise...TOS was only really concerned with the dynamic personalities of Spock, Kirk, Bones...and it worked then...it doesn't work now. I applaud your work and ask that you continue on.
