Really enjoyed these vignettes.

I'm not sure the Carol character is old enough for To Kill a Mocking Bird to have been particularly controversial for her to do a book report on in high school. It was assigned reading in a lot of high schools in the 80s, but might have been more controversial in certain parts of Georgia. I could definitely see Daryl's dad having a bad reaction to him reading it. I love the idea of them talking about literature and Daryl being a little more self-educated than he would ever let on to anyone but her.
