EnPassant4264 chapter 20 . 9/26 Well, that got dark quickly. Accomplishing akumatization by subverting Mega Evolution to merge the Trainer and Pokemon? I'll buy it. Though you've ruined the surprise of what the not-miraculouses are going to do. And if those two are powered by Xerneas & Yveltal, I must be right in thinking Hawk Moth has a connection to Zygarde. Fu's core is probably Z2. Now the question is... can either of them transform? (I'm really tempted to call it Megamerging, because the concept is quite similar to the Mega Man ZX one and the name fits so well if it's really connected to Mega Evolution) Also, I love the image of Fu riding around on a Torterra instead of walking. Just relaxing in the shade, maybe making tea, enjoying the sights from the back of his partner. |
EnPassant4264 chapter 7 . 9/15 I should probably write a review about the actual writing at some point rather than going wild with ideas. I know I'm 55 chapters behind, but answering the A/N questions is a good starting point. It says please review so I'm just following directions! Yeah, the battles aren't spectacular, definitely try and do your own thing rather than basing it off Ash's battle, because Marinette isn't Ash and in my opinion that's for the better. The String Shot swinging was very clear, but still fun! There aren't too many ways to make a caterpillar exciting and it does a good job. The other thing I'd note is that you should pick a side on how consistent you're going to be with game mechanics. One one hand, stat changes are actual conditions, complete with their visual effects, and Rattled is triggered by the attack rather than going for its flavor effect of moving faster because she's scared. On the other, Rattled gets boosted by the typeless passive damage, and both sides are throwing around endgame moves like Psychic and Energy Ball in the first gym like nobody's business. It's very off-putting for me. Are you going for mechanics or spectacle? In general, though, I'm loving it. I don't know what's so addicting about this group of teenagers that all you gotta do is put them in a setting they haven't been in before and not screw up their characters and suddenly I'm devouring the whole thing. |
EnPassant4264 chapter 6 . 9/15 "Since this Pokémon makes its own clothes out of leaves, it is a popular mascot for fashion designers." -Sewaddle Pokédex entry. If that doesn't fit Marinette, I'll eat a leaf hat. On the topic of Pokémon teams, since I already threw out guesses, might as well add what I think will be added to everyone's teams in the future. Not very wild guesses (except for a certain trio of very powerful Pokemon), but it's still fun. Marinette: Gardevoirite, Togekiss, Slurpuff. Will catch Xerneas. Wasn't really intending this to be a Fairy team, but Fairies happen to match all of these qualities of hers. Adrien: Galladite. Will catch Yveltal. Alya: Ninetails (either form) and/or Zoroark, Absol w/ Absolite Nino: Blastoisinite, Exploud, Hitmontop Chloe: Vespiquen, Beedrill w/ Beedrillite, Tsareena (if you're allowing Gen VII Mons), maybe Ursaring? Sabrina: Stoutland, Indeedee (if you're allowing Gen VII Mons), Kecleon? Ivan: Golem, Marowak; if you think he's getting a miraculous like Mylene is confirmed to, replace either Golem with Aggron w/Aggronite or Marowak with Houndoom w/ Houndoominite; Tauros if that miraculous is the Ox Miraculous which is my guess. Mylene: Raichu, one of Gengar w/Gengarite (if you're on-board with her getting a Miraculous), Grimmsnarl (if you're allowing Gen VII Mons), or Mismagius Nathanael: Smeargle Juleka: Hatterene (if you're allowing Gen VII mons) Rose: Aromatisse, maybe Florges Max: Alakazamite, Porygon-Z, Rapidash. Markov is a Rotom that inhabits his Pokedex like the one in S/M. Kim: Swampertite, Infernape Alix: Either Blazikenite and Diggersby or Lopunny w/ Loppunite, Scrafty If Kagami is introduced: either Garchomp w/ Garchompite (if Jagged is E4) or Charizard w/ Charizardite X (if Tomoe is E4; whoever's in will likely have the other one), Polteageist (if you're allowing Gen VII mons), Bisharp Nathalie: Pidgeot w/ Pidgeotite, Swoobat (that's Duusu) Gabriel: Volcarona, Lucario w/ Lucarionite. Controls Zygarde (50% with Power Construct) using Hawk Moth's cane, much like the Ghetsis Stick. Lastly, I hope you flib a new Hidden Ability when Tikki evolves into Ledian, because Iron Fist is garbage on it. And, well, you already have Ledyba learning a TM move all on its own, so what's another contradiction? I recommend Super Luck. Bug out! |
EnPassant4264 chapter 5 . 9/15 Oh, the Gym Leaders/E4 are replaced by Miraculous characters, too? I guess that makes sense with Gabriel being the Champion. Although, Gabriel is basically Lyssandre, isn't he? Head of a majorly popular company and moonlighting as the main antagonist. The Champion position seems better suited for Audrey Bourgoise, since she and Diantha are both at the front of the public eye in fashion/acting (despite not actually being seen much lol) and have enormous influence. I'm gonna guess all the rest of them now! And other major characters! Grant: This one's hard, pun not intended, because Nino fits the position best. Maybe Wayhem since Party Crasher was disco-themed and Adrien has a rock-wall. Or worse... XY. Korrina: Nora, or potentially Mom Kubdel with a suspicious resemblance to adult Alix. Ramos: Kind old man options are somewhat limited... Rolland Dupain, maybe, but Marinette being related to a Gym Leader seems like it would be a plot point. Clemont: Like Grant, Max is a shoe-in here but probably can't be it. Potentially his mom Claudie, or Ms. Mendeleiev somehow. Valerie: Fred Haprèle. Olympia: Marianne Lenoir is my best bet, since not many Kalosians fit the bill and because Anistar is connected to Mega Evolution (I'll get to why that's important, fufufu...) Wulfric: André the Ice Cream Man, which is going to be hilarious. Siebold: Marlena would be the closest fit, but if she's stuck in Lumiose at the Richissime, it would need to be someone else. Wang Cheng is also a great chef, but he's not French/Kalosian, and again, Marinette being related to him would be important. Anarka is all I got, since she's at least water-themed. Malva: Nadja Chamack, easy. Wikstrom: Armand D'Argencourt, also easy. Drasna: I know it's confirmed to be Jagged Stone, but the initial publishing date suggests this chapter was written before Tomoe Tsurugi was introduced, so maybe a usurping is in order because she's an excellent fit. Jagged can go open a Gym in Alola since he's basically Ryuki. Team Flare (which I assume will be Team Papillon or something of that nature) Admins will be Lila/Nathalie/Adrien's bodyguard. There's originally five, but Gabriel doesn't have any other associates, and the real admins are all one-dimensional enough that two won't be missed. Gurkinn: Master Fu, and Key Stones are actually Miraculouses, calling it now. Dexio/Sina: I have a feeling they'll be written out since Damocles is the Professor, but if anything, their villain-fighting masquerade role will be taken up by Marinette and Adrien as Ladybug and Chat Noir. And that would be really cool. |
erica.phoenix16 chapter 62 . 9/4 Thanks for updating. :) |
Guest chapter 62 . 8/30 This is the best use of pokemon and MLB I've ever seen! The way the 2 worlds come together is so cool and you should keep going til the very end! |
JDunks896 chapter 62 . 8/19 ...Adrien’s got a Dusclops or a Dusknoir. Can you confirm or deny? |
TotalWeeb chapter 3 . 8/18 Marinette stop spamming tackle |
Guest chapter 62 . 8/2 A lot of action going on here. And no worries about using OCs in this case. If they help bring out development for the main characters and move the story along in the intended direction, then I think you're good. |
Ander Arias chapter 62 . 8/2 Given how you haven't used OCs so far, I was indeed a bit confused when I saw "Mattheiu" and the name didn't ring any bell (I watched every ML episode so far) and search on the wiki didn't net any results. Then I saw the way Marge spoke, the fact she had a Camerupt and that she had short purple hair, and put two and two together. I'm not that fond of OCs either, be creating or reading them, as I prefer to focus on the canon characters as well, but there are some situations, like the one in this chapter, where they are a necessary evil. I guess OCs are at their worst when they are completely unecessary, and it's not the case here. Here's for Marinette to finally get that Milotic, especially after so much hesitation. Great chapter, I can't wait to read the next one. |
MajorBrony95 chapter 62 . 8/1 Not bad. Glad to see a new chapter. |
altmattmoon chapter 62 . 8/1 Step 1 of that lying little minx's plan went belly up. How delightful! Let's hope this mystery Pokémon can crush Mismagius and Lila's smug little ploy along with it! |
erica.phoenix16 chapter 61 . 7/29 Thanks for updating. :) |
altmattmoon chapter 61 . 7/2 That Green-eyed vixen is grinding my last gear! If Revenge does come first, I hope it nails her Dark-type noggin! |
Guest chapter 61 . 7/1 I see what you did with Xuppu and Electabuzz. That was totally a mothereffin' Jojo reference! |
