missgsmith51 chapter 4 . 6/23/2018 Great story! I like happily-ever-afters, especially when there is enough drama to still make them interesting. I have to say, your account of Dumbledore's behind-the-scenes string-pulling that got good people (including the Potters) killed or incapacitated comes very close to my feelings about what happened. I didn't think him quite as sinister, but the results were the same. I have always believed his "stunners only/nothing deadly" policy got Order members killed because those tactics don't work against DEs who are throwing deadly spells right and left. (I've often wondered if Molly would be so devoted to him if she realized his negligence got her brothers killed. Your explanation is a hundred times worse, as it is cold-blooded murder. I hope she sends him a few thousand Howlers in prison. Or maybe not. They might scare off the Dementors.) I figured Dumbledore knew the contents of the Potter wills, because he probably witnessed them. After hearing Flitwick describe the "immensely complex spell" in PoA - making it sound like something few people had the power or finesse to pull off - I have always believed Dumbledore cast the Fidelius Charm on the Godric's Hollow house, so he again would have known Sirius was not the Secret Keeper. (JM2K) It looks like our Lost Boys are finally found, though, and plan to stay that way. Perhaps, with McGonagall in charge, Hogwarts will regain her former glory. Thanks for sharing your story. |
missgsmith51 chapter 2 . 6/23/2018 Regarding Fudge and his outbursts ... to paraphrase Shakespeare, "The [idiot] doth protest too much, methinks." I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Fudge was Marked. The man is thoroughly corrupt. It would certainly account for his irrational fear of Sirius and his determination to have Harry labeled a delusional liar and troublemaker early in the game. By doing so, he ensures that Harry will never be believed about anything in the future. |
