Haha, I can totally see things being like that! Petunia being a cat makes a surprisingly lot of sense! I can imagine her glaring at James in canon too, so of course the fact that she's a cat here makes it ok for her to attack him too (bet she'd have loved that). And of course sweet Lily would be surprised by that behavior. And goodness, I loved that you described cat!Petunia as a housewife like human!Petunia is (kinda a human!AU in a cat!AU of a human!verse if it makes sense!). Brilliant take on it!

Hah, okay, you got me with this premise. Petunia as a cat, this ought to be good.

Alright, firstly, I love James in this. Yes, yes, voice all the cheesy, we all knwo you're a ball of cheese anyways! And lol "Are you a man or a mouse?" I love that line XD And I love how he decides to deal with the issue - instead of being hostile, like Sirius might have been, or avoided it, like Remus might have, he decides he'll just lay the Potter charm on THICK and get this cat to like him! It feels like a very James-y choice, because that seems to have always been his solution (which he used on McGonagall and Lily). I also liked that he didn't want to make Lily feel bad, even though she did offer to keep the cat in the other room - most people would have taken her up on that.

Petunia as a cat feels very fitting as well, she always struck me as kind of catty (pun!). And half her dialogue sounded like hissing ayways. The only thing that felt slightly off was that she was protective of Lily. I mean, she might have loved her sister deep, deep down, but she certainly didn't like her. It works in the context of the story though, and you don't specifically stated that the cat DOES like Lily, so we'll see how you develop this (she does scratch her arms). I also liked how you tied her cat tendencies like the human Petunia, watching people and not going outside (wow, this woman really is catty)

The piece was short, but it flowed well, setting up the tone and plot for the rest of it. I'm really curious to see what harebrained scheme he'll come up with, sounds like a fun ride.

Petunia as Lily's grumpy cat is pretty hilarious.

James commenting on the cat's color in his pep-talk to himself strikes me as odd. The cat's color doesn't have as much to do with why he shouldn't be afraid of her than the facts that she's small and she's a cat. You might want to move the detail about her coloration into the narration, instead of having it muddling the point of James's comment.

James is such a cornball. XD

Even though she does act very much like a typical cat, Petunia did retain much of her canon personality as well. Poor James, lol.

Typos and grammar issues:

[It's okay, she's just] - If you like semi-colons, this would be the place to use one! Otherwise, "It's okay" should be its own separate sentence here. The comma is grammatically incorrect.

This was brilliant! Petunia reminds me so much of one of my cats (and apparently it’s my fault the cat’s evil), and I loved James’ reactions to her, especially his thoughts in italics.

I saw a couple mistakes with punctuation, but this was otherwise well written. I loved your characterisations (particularly James, as I’m sure you noticed) and I loved that Lily decided to get another cat that’s likely to be just as bad (if not worse) than Petunia.

I loved all the little details you used to describe the cat Petunia, her arrogance, the way she behaved - it reminded me a lot of Petunia, and I could imagine this little beast really good ;)
Poor James, is completely annoyed by that cat, so much that he does hesitate to knock... I feel pity for him, really. I would love to see how he'll try to bribe Petunia to like him, that'll be fun! Or how Petunia would react if James slept at Lily's place, as the bed would be occupied then I can see a sulking cat! I would love a sequel, to be honest ;)

Ha ha this is story is a bit odd and out of left field, but it's still a really cute AU. I can actually imagine Petunia as a wrathful cat who James has to deal with in order to spend time with Lily. James is very brave and must love Lily a lot to put up with Petunia the cat. I also agree that James would be more of a dog person- just because he has that energy and he's such a guy. I did like how he ends up talking to the cat and Petunia just blinks at him. I feel like human Petunia would have such an attitude too.

So, I was gonna read something else but then I saw Cat!AU and knew what I had to do.

I absolutely loved this! Petunia as a cat is my new favourite thing! I loved how James was trying really hard to get her to like him (for Lily, of course) and Petunia was having none of it. She’s weirdly perfect as a cat; her personality really hasn’t changed at all, and yet it’s still believable that she’s not human.

There were a few mistakes with punctuation, and some of the dialogue read a little similar (as in, if you removed the narrative, you wouldn’t be able to tell who was talking) but I think that’s a pretty nit-picky thing to suggest. Really, my main suggestion is that there should definitely be more of this. (I really want to see Cat!Vernon and Cat!Dudley.) I think it would also be really nice to see how James attempted to get Petunia to like him (I imagine there would be a lot of failed attempts, and they would all be hilarious).

Anyway, I think you did a great job with this, and (if you hadn’t already guessed) I really enjoyed reading it.

Hahaha Petunia as a hissy "cat from hell" is perfect! XD Poor James and of course he'd be more of a dog person (Maybe he should bring Sirius along next time to give the mean ol' cat a little scare?)! It was hilarious how Lily seemed to be all into her cat despite the cat being obviously evil and scratching everything. Petunia most definitely would be a grumpy house cat! "Perhaps the fur ball could sense that." Too cute! I'd love to see a second chapter of this where James meets the even meaner tomcat Vernon Dursley!

This is a new AU, I've never read. It's interesting. Cat! Petunia seems a lot like canon! Crookshanks with not liking James and Crookshanks didn't like Ron or maybe he just didn't like Scabbers. A lot of pets have a hard time accepting that that their owner is dating. Though, cat! Petunia seems a lot like Human! Petunia. Is there a Cat! Vernon around there somewhere, haha? I didn't see any spelling or grammar errors. It's sweet that James it's going to try and get on Cat! Petunia's good side. It may be easier to get on Cat! Petunia's good side than Human! Petunia's.

I can imagine Human!Petunia acting like this when Lily and James were dating. I like how James compare Petunia as a housewife, having her match her canon personality. Petunia obviously sense something troubling about James if she is usually tame and quiet since cats know best XD. James is so committed to Lily that he's willing to put up with her beloved cat even though he's more of a dog person. It would've been interesting if James had a dog named Sirius. Hopefully, it all works out for him. Poor James having to put up with a spoiled Cat!Petunia.

Omg her cat's name's Petunia! That's so sweet. [sandy coloured] should be hyphenated since it's an adjective. Haha, Petunia trying to attack James and their glaring at each other is brilliant! It's so in character. I definitely think Petunia would lash out at people like that if she could get away with it. She quite suits being a cat.

Overall:
I loved this! It was a really cute little scene between James and Lily, even if it was interrupted by Petunia. Your characterisation was really good, and you could really see how much James loves Lily-especially at the end when he decides to try and get on Petunia's good side.
