I agree with the way that ultimately Naruto has no ties to Konoha.

Only the manipulations, that's what they are, of Hiruzen the Hokage kept him bound to Konoha and the crap that he could be Hokage.

please do not have Naruto going fanboy crazy over Sakura. she is meaningless in his story line. can you make Hinata a little more self assured and independent. if she likes Naruto she should walk up to him in front of everyone and tell him or ask him out. can you put them on the same team.

Why are the civilians involved with team selections? It doesn't have anything to do with them! This is strictly a shinobi matter.

So you say you will take ideas into account, then I would like to share my views. Concerning his elemental affinity, I would suggest you keep in line with his canon Futon. With what I can discern from this first chapter, I believe Futon would be the best affinity for someone who works in a high-stealth environment like ANBU. A possible and non-popular second element to use would be Doton. Katon is too flashy for stealth most of the time, Raiton is another solid option due to its speed and assassination capabilities, and Suiton would be decent, but I feel it is just as flashy as Katon. Doton would allow for defensive ninjutsu capabilities, and it would allow for a cover for Futon's weakness to
Katon while being covered in its weakness to Raiton by his Futon affinity. It is also strong against Suiton, so he would have most of his bases covered when fighting with or against ninjutsu. Of course, this is moot if your unknown Kekkei Genkai is elemental based, so yeah...Anyway! As far as Fuuinjutsu is concerned, I believe that seal masters each have a specialization. Minato, I believe focused mainly of Jikukan, while with the Kongo Fusa, Kushina focused more on barriers, and Jiraiya, I believe, would have focused on the actual sealing of things like his use of Fuja Hoin and messing with the Hakke Fuin. Perhaps Naruto could focus on something else like chakra conversion and manipulation. He would apply seals to things to change the nature of the chakra that was introduced to the seal: insert regular chakra, convert to elemental chakra, Yin chakra, Yang chakra, or healing chakra. Chakra manipulation by my meaning would be something similar to shape manipulation. If you have read or watched Bleach, applying a seal to his tantos that would release a wave of chakra similar to Getsuga Tensho or Tier Halibel's Cero is what I had in mind for chakra manipulation. I know this is long winded, so forgive me, but I got excited. I can't wait for future chapters, so good luck!

Very nice start to this story. Although there's no background on how naruto got that strong or if he knows his parents and clan, this first chapter is pretty good although short. If you could make it like 5k or more per chapter it'll be perfect. Also with what you wrote about naruto being so good with his two swords so he won't need taijutsu. I find that false because if his swords were to be broken or if he got disarmed then he would be in trouble . It's better if he had his taijutsu to at least be close to or on point with his kenjutsu.

Nice start. I wish we got more of a background as to how Naruto got so strong, but you have def piqued my curiosity. I can't wait to see what an ANBU trained Naruto will be like...especially once his bloodline(whatever it may be) is revealed. Great job so far and I look forward to the next update.

I think it a great start, but Naruto's future teacher saying that taijutsu wasn't needed because Naruto is good with wielding tanto is not accurate, because he could drop is weapons or they can be broken. So having taijutsu being equal to his sword skills is a good idea, seeing as it is possible for a unarmed combatant to disarm someone if they are very skilled.
