I totally share that headcanon about the overdose not having been an accident - in fact, most of the fandom does by now, I think - and you put that into words really well. How I wish that John had been aware of it! Maybe a lot of what followed would have played out differently then. Well done also not making light of what it means to overdose, medically. All in all, good read!

I agree about the attempted suicide as well. Or at least about Sherlock deliberately taking the risk, wondering if he would wake up or not. I've always liked stories about Sherlock relapsing and now it's canon. Sherlock even admitted that he has been indulging himself for a while. I'm positively craving John helping or even forcing Sherlock to detox and hope season 4 will not just ignore the fact that Sherlock would feel the consequences if he stops using.

Anyway, loved the story!

I haven't watched Abominable Bride yet! My sister, and fellow huge Sherlock fan, has been away! It is tragedy!

This story is awesome, though, and I haven't heard the suicide head canon before, although it kind of makes sense. Guess it would also depend on how much of an optimist Sherlock is, and if he thought he had any chance of getting back. I'm pretty sure he didn't, though.

I agree about the attempted suicide- after all, why would he want to risk getting captured and possibly tortured again, just to die in the end? It makes sense, in Sherlock's POV. This was very good, and I think we'll definitely hear more about this in S4. Thank you,

Nice job! Plausible to me.

Not quite following the suicide train of thought but I can understand how Sherlock might bensondesperate to take such a massive amount in one go and just keep going and going even when on a case, which in the theory was suppose to replace the drugs.
Lovely reasoning on how Sherlock read the blogs. He really does value his time spent with John and chasing down criminals and annoying the Yard. he even likes Lestrade a lot. Though would never say it aloud.

I too have accepted the Sherlock-was-committing-suicide headcanon, and it makes me sad, because I don't want him to die (again), or anyone to die for that matter (unless they are characters I do NOT like - they can die) (can we live, please?)
