I loved loved loved last year's story. I love this one too but it hurts too, this whole circumstance casts a cloud over Caskett, especially at the holidays. This is beautifully written, poignant. Thank you.

Wow. I'm kind of in awe of this, of you. I re-read the first story earlier today to remind myself of the universe before starting this one, and I was just as enthralled with it as I was last year. It really captured the tone of where they were. And then you follow it up with this, which may be even more brilliant at capturing their current tone. So much well done emotion ... you leave me a little breathless. (And maybe with a few tears; when Rick thinks the scrapbook could be a goodbye ... whoa, that was a wallop, of the best kind.) Beautiful. I really loved it. Kate's scrapbook as a promise to Rick that their story will continue. I can see why he'd worry that it was a goodbye, though, and his sadness and worry was heartbreaking, his vulnerability. Christmas in space and the metaphor of the command pilot was beautiful and touching, too.

Um so okay this is perfect and this is the most wonderful speculation fic for the "pretending to be separated" storyline I've read. Seriously, this made me feel like if C&B can hack it, then I can too. Such a lovely and amazing story!

Goodness. This was exquisite.

I enjoyed hope for the night, and thought it was on point for the changes the characters were going through then. And I have to say, this one was even better; it felt as though my heart was being squeezed in my chest while I was reading.

You captured Beckett's fears perfectly, and I loved how you had her lay herself bare before Castle. I think her honesty in that moment of vulnerability was exactly what was needed, and their gifts to one another felt just right. Going back and reliving their story together would be a balm to both of their hearts. I also really liked how you threw in Christmas in space; it was a delight to cap all that emotion off with something lighter and unequivocally pleasurable.
